Inspired by something I saw on Pinterest, where some girls were redoing cowboy boots, I decided to remake these boots for my sister's upcoming birthday.  She really loves the grungy shabby chic look, and so this will be right up her alley.

They used to be knee length, but I cut off the calf, then folded down the last few inches.
The doilies and lace were from old table cloths, and the fabric strips were just the grungiest ones I could find in my scrap box.  I used shoe glue (made by E6000) for most of it, and did a little hand sewing with some parts.  I made the charms different for each shoe.
I painted them brown to get rid of the scuffs, and also because the black just didn't look right. I got brown upholstery paint from the craft store.

Here is what they looked like before:
As you can see, I got a lot of wear out of them and they were very comfortable.  Quite an old out of style heel by now but it won't be noticed any more!

These are so much fun! I love the little charms. I started to redo a pair of boots and then got bored and set them aside, its a lot of work and you have to do it twice! I should go back and work on mine some more.  Cheesy

These are so awesome!! What a great remake. I'm regretting all of the raggedy boots I've thrown out over the years Smiley.

Congrats on being in the "best of" list for 2014!!
