I've been a busy beader for a while.

I obsessed over Judy Walker's book The Beaded Sphere And Variations for a could of years since I picked it up.  I finally psyched myself up enough to try one of her patterns. They are easier than I thought and lots of fun!

A jar of raspberry jam from the end of the summer for size comparison.

Twenty hexagons, and twelve pentagons make up all of the faces.

The book is super fabulous, especially if you are any sort of geometry or math geek!  But easy enough for those of us who aren't into higher math too.

Thor modeling the sphere.  He wasn't as fascinated by it as I had hoped either...

It is all size 11 Delicas, simalide thread.  No wire.  I have another pattern I am working on before jumping into trying some of my own 3d shapes!

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd love to swap or buy some missing from my library!

It's gorgeous and amazing. I imagine my eyes and fingers would be sore to attempt this. Wonderful work!

Thank you all so much!
It wasn't really that bad, just a little tedious.  I discovered a way to break up the tedium a little bit by the time I finished it.  Smiley  I really like three dimensional beading.
