I'm brand new to sewing, haven't done it since 1st grade in a 4-h class 29 years ago or so.  I want to start making my own clothes and went to a used sewing machine store. I know NOTHING about sewing machines and the saleswoman sold me a White brand blue jeans machine model 1599. We paid $250 and I've been trying to find out how much it should cost and reviews and I can find hardly a thing. I feel like I was taken.  Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Eliza Smiley

Hi and welcome Eliza Smiley

Looking online I found the manual and where to purchase parts. No reviews though only one rating.

Seems to be an older machine, and somehow linked to Singer.

As far as the price, I suppose if it is in good working order and has all the parts it could be a fair price. Only way to really know is to start sewing, an see how it performs. Smiley

There is one on ebay for sale for a lot less.
But i dont think you got a bad deal.
It seems  its one of those machines that you will be using for years to come .
