Anyway, my feeder is something I have made a few times before. I enjoy feeding the birds but not cleaning out the feeders. These are so quick and easy to make you can just produce a new one. However they are also surprisingly sturdy. I have had one outside over the winter and it is still going strong. I think design came out of my head, well as much as anything can. However I am sure some one some were will have made one before.

To make you will need.

2 x milk or other waxed cartons
Scissors
Permanent marker
String
A glue gun

Mark out the 1st box as shown in the photo below and cut out. It is basically a house shape but remember to leave enough to fold over to make the roof.

With you 2nd box cut out a roof.

Thread the string from the base to what will be the roof. Stick the base together and then stick the roof on top.

There you go a re-purposed milk carton or a disposable bird house.

If its windy you may want to weight it down simply fill the base with melted fat and bird seed to make in house fat ball.

What I like about this is if you have a glue gun its basically free and a great activity to do with kids (Those old enough for hot glue and scissors).

This is a wonderful recycling project and your design is elegant.

I will be sending the link to all of the teachers I know - this is perfect for kids!
