What about making your own jewelry?  you can do it while you watch a movie, and everyone gets to take something home without doing silly treat bags.  Just get some inexpensive charms, faux pearls and other fun beads, ear wires and a couple of packs of head and eye pins.  Have a few pairs of plyers on hand so you don't all have to wait too long for the tools.

as kind of an addition to the homemade movie idea, my friends and i (who are (15-16 yrs. old) we spent the night at a hotel and set up a camcorder int he bathroom, then we all had to write down 3 questions or crazy things to act out. So as we were watching a movie we each in turn went into the bathroom and had to do the certain thing we had randomly drawn. It was really funny to watch afterwards b/c you couldn't not do something and you couldn't tell everyone what is was.  (unless of course they could hear you opera singing directions to your house!)

What about a scavenger hunt? I saw one on TV over the weekend that was a 'fashion' scavenger hunt and they took Polaroid cameras (although nowadays, everyone has digital cameras, so maybe your friends can each bring theirs) to collect the pieces of the puzzle. You could assign a point-value to each thing, so that some of the harder ones to find are worth more.

Some fun examples could be [maybe you can go to the mall or something?] :
  • mullet
  • fosty pink lipstick
  • mismatched socks
  • quarter in the fountain (if you go to the mall)
  • white shoes after Labor Day
  • plaid pants

Then, you could come home and see who got the most points!

I wanted to to that for my sixteenth, but my mom shot it down.  Sad It's a great idea, though!

I deffinitley think a homade "movie" is a GREAT idea. I do this all the time with my friends and then sometimes when whe have nothing to do we just pop the tape in and get a good laugh at good times. Smiley You can play the flour game. My friends mom taught it to us one night. You just fill a cereal bowl with flour, pack it down, and then like a sand castle carefully dump it out onto a plate. Put a penny in the center and then take turns cutting the flour off around the penny. The person who makes the penny fall has to dig it out with their mouth. It can get pretty messy. I thought it was a lot of fun. I dont know just an idea. Tepee a house and play ding dong ditch. Hope you have a great 15th!

AHH! me and my friends played that game (but with a piece of candy, much nicer than a yucky penny)!  to answer your question bernie724, by "cutting" it, it's basically letting the flour crumble away from the packed "castle" of flour, cuz you know how the flour'll hold its shape and stick together if it's untouched, right?

anyway, scavenger hunt and blind makeover sound like great ideas.

btw, i love juvenile games.  just makes you laugh harder =)

one more thing: i'm turning fifteen too, soon (30th)!

All the talk about making your own movies reminds me of what we used to do in highschool. MY cousin and I would take the video camera out everywhere we went and play "Cops" like the tv show. We once drove up on a RV that had a kid hanging out the window and I can rememebr holding the video cam and talking about how it was a bus load of illegal immigrants. LOL

video cameras are a lot of fun- especially when you watch the tape later. what about a kereoke machine? they cost about $100 to rent, but you will get alot of use out of them. making your own sundays is always fun. also, you could make a mix cd for all of your guests as a party foavour. you could put all of your friend's favourite songs on it, as well as music from the night.

i had a sleepover for my 15th too,
we had a mini disco thing
then we baked brownies which sounds lame but we ended up having a  full on flour fight and we were all covered in flour. was soooo funny so maybe u could bake and start a flour fight, its much better than a water fight at this time of the year!
um, wat else, we took loadsa pics and did some crafty stuff, then ate loads and watched mvies, not forgetting, pedis manis and face masks!
Have fun!
