My first attempt at painting/dyeing yarn:) this is some random generic brand 100% cotton that I presoaked in room temp water for 30 minutes and then squeezed the water out. Used a tie dye kit and went for some "peacock"esque colors and made a small skein with longer sections of color and another with a more tie dye/variegated look.

I must say everyone is right about coloring yarn. I now want to experiment with everything from crushed berries to ink, to food color and icing paste, etc etc.

as if I needed another endeavor lol Smiley


Here's a pic of the finished and dried yarn (long color sections skein and the more tie dye variegated one is rolled into the ball)
