So I've been doing a lot of mini book jewelry recently. Like, a lot.

I have a tutorial for my books that I'll attach. I just thought that it would maybe be beneficial on here!

Here is some of the jewelry that I've made for myself and friends, etc.

My original motivation! A bracelet with the original 13 Oz books (chainmaille is from my husband) Smiley

And my next motivation! Outlander swag!

I also did a few more with other favorite books for gifts!

Here's my tutorial:

Mini Book Tutorial

1.   Find a book cover that you want to use. If there are no spines or backs available, you can always add a rectangle of a prominent color in the cover to the lefthand side of the cover image. You can size it in word by using the rulers along the side of the page, or pull it into Photoshop to work on. I did 1 tall. I used a resume paper. Find something thicker than normal printer paper if you can. (Image 1)

2.   Cut it out using a straight edge and fold where the spine should be. (Image 2, top left)

3.   Cut a strip of paper just a hair shorter than the actual cover and fold it accordion style, occasionally wrapping around the back of the stack, forming the spine side. Make sure there is a little hole to stick the eye pin down near the middle. If you wrap part of it around the back, it should create a small hole that usually works well for this. Mod Podge all of the pages together so it is a solid brick. (Image 2, top middle and top right)

4.   Take eye pin and put it in the hole near the spine. I dripped superglue down it before I pushed it in, making sure the hole of the hook is parallel to the front cover so that an attaching hook can connect it to the chain (Or whatever it is going on) and the book still faces front. (Image 2, bottom left)

5.   After this is dry, clear coat and seal the entire charm. I used superglue to glue any of the pages that were still separated back together too, then clear coated the edges of the pages. (Image 2, bottom middle)

6.   Make a mini library! Make bracelets of series, make earrings, add corresponding charms to a necklace to make a simple and pretty statement!

I need a mini bookshelf to hold all of my mini books!

I love them, so sweet. I am a complete doofus with computery things but I'd love to make a set of those Oz books for a dollhouse. Adorable.

Craftylittlemonkey: I can shoot you the link to the Oz images. Then all you have to do is put them in Word and size them like you would an image in a document.

Alright guys, Hungry Tiger Press blog did a "White Edition Wednesday" for all of the Oz books. There should be 14 in all. Here's a link to search results for "White edition wednesday" and each book has a flat scan of the front, spine, and back that I used for my Oz books Smiley
Just save each and then open Word and insert image from computer. Then you can size them however you want to, print them out, and you're set to start!

The only thing I'd suggest is use a matte Modge Podge, not a glossy.

Go into Microsoft Word, Hit insert, then image from computer. Select the image and it will show up on the screen. You can then resize it by dragging the squares in the corners. There should be a ruler along the top and left of the page to size it by.
