https://www.usps.com/ship/file-domestic-claims.htm

You have to have sent priority mail or insured to file a claim...I think priority included $50 of insurance in the pricing...

what a shame...I love seeing all of the stamps you guys worked so hard on!!

USPS insurance is a joke, Koreena. you have to have gotten insurance on it, paid for it, and you have to have the receipt for the items you want them to pay for. when I got you package it looked like it wasn't tampered with at all, no rips or tear or anything, but it was just sealed with a small peice of tape. I'm guessing someone stole it. I don't know why they would, but how else would it arrive here completely whole but missing the contents? And going to the higher ups, in my experience, won't get you anywhere at all.

I have never had a problem with insurance...I just keep bunches of Joann fabric receipts on hand and put down that the items are handmade from the supplies.  You must have a barcode or tracking number.  It takes about two weeks to get any money back.  Of course, they can't pay for the time and effort you put into the project, which is sad.

I highly recommend putting your items in a zip lock bag with your mailing label inside and on the zip lock bag...even if the envelope is torn or open and the stuff falls out, they can find you...this happened to a package I received...it was destroyed but the shipper had put her business card inside!!!

We seem to be having a rash of odd postal problems this time. Your package to me was perfectly well packed, Koreena. I can't see why any others would have gone awry.

My envelope to elyxadra STILL hasn't arrived, even though I could have walked to her house by now, but I think I've just discovered why. I started filling out Canada Post's online "What happened to my package?" form, and when I entered the postal code, it was for a different street than elyxandra's. I got her package today, so I was able to check the code I sent to against her return address. Sure enough, the postal code on her questionnaire was off by one digit. Uh oh! Canada Post has been pretty good in the past about eventually figuring out where to send even weirdly mis-addressed mail, and this one is pretty straightforward, so there's still hope.

But it does drag out the anticipation unfairly. The good news is that I got three great stamps from elyxandra, which I'll try to get a photo of tonight.

Received from elyxandra today:

I couldn't figure out what the circle one on the left was until I stamped it. Then I recognized "It's an eyeball!" Am I right, elyxandra?  The grooves on the hand are so fine they're barely visible on the stamp, but they show up just fine. There's a tiny dent in the rubber (from shipping, probably) on the cuff, which is located just right to read as a button! Cheesy And I especially love the cockroach!

Thanks, elyxandra! Your guess at what I might like was exactly right!  Cheesy

The same thing happened with me and my Bullet Bill stamp earlier: when I took it out of the package, I was holding it at a 90 degree tilt, and could not figure it out for the life of me.  But as soon as I stamped it, I could see which way to turn it -- and the likeness was so perfect, I couldn't believe I had missed it at first!

It absolutely does read as a button, I would never be able to tell from the photo that it was a dent.  As far as I'm concerned, it was intentional!  Smiley

I received from adrienne_bowers today:

This cute stamp is very appropriate for a teacher.  Smiley

She also sent a couple of delicious Japanese fleur de sel caramel candies (with a chocolate center!)  I love salty and sweet together, so they were promptly devoured.   Grin

Thank you!

I love that hand stamp! No one would have guessed dent, unless you told us - it really does look like a button!
