I see a lot of young girls crocheting...I learned by making the biggest chain in the world!

That is great, krbison...spark their interest!

Two strips finished. Plan to do some more before I send though.

The orange strip is crocheted in V-stitch. The baby-toned strip is what I've laughingly called a Squat Cable, a pattern I adapted from another cable stitch. I've left extra yarn on each end to help with sewing the strips together. Both used a full skein of yarn, but the cable obviously is bulkier and used up more yarn per row.

I love that cable kbrison  Grin and it's totally different from anything we've recevied so far.

I'm ashamed to say that I havent finished a strip in a while but I have been darning all the sections together (something no one else has been doing) so I dont feel to bad about that.

Our crochet group met today so I gave this project a shout out. Don't know if anyone else will get on board, but they were interested.

How is this event coming?

Bushbaby has received the Dr. Who scarf I am donating for the cause!  I found the coolest picture of Drusilla (Spike's first love from Buffy the Vampire Slayer...yeah, I am a nerd...) wearing the same scarf I knit!

I just mailed in my scarf length as well...bushbaby--when do you put it all together?

Yes! I have a bt started. You mentioned it goes through the year, right? Maybe I will get a little hooker time this summer and can make enough progress on it that I feel it is worthy to be sent.

I did indeed and it is trully amazing! had to pry it from my DHs hands, he wanted to keep it!

I will need to get a picture but we are up to 5 starbucks baskets full of scarf!

We havent joined it all up yet. Im thinking I need to get my knitty friends round for a while one saturday soon to sew it all together and measure it properly.

When we started the manager in Starbucks said it was all year, but the other day he mentioned that they are supposed to get the money all together for july. I have the feeling we will still get knittng donations througout the rest of the year but since I am planning on making it all into blankets & scarves for the homeless charities we can add any extras we get to the ones we already have as they come in. Cheesy

Going out of state for a few days, so will plan on sending my finished strips as soon as I'm home again since you need them by July. Then I can always send more for the blankets at a later time.
