I made the scarf as a challenge to myself...it was fun and I got to tick off something on the Knitters Bucket List...but in reality, I will never wear it and I am too lazy to sell it or donate it myself...oh, a raffle is a good idea!! You would probably want to set a minimum as I would hate the scarf to go for only $10! Grin

Always in my room, you are so sweet.

I lost my hook (read: it was stolen by a child) over a week ago and now that I have other things on my plate and don't have the time to just sit and stitch in my moments of "free time" (which is really a laugh anyway) I found it yesterday. In the van. I don't know why it's in the van but I get this image of Rugrats, how they always kept everything in their diapers and pulled them out when they needed them. I think that's how it happened. Jo snaked it into her diaper and hid it from my somehow until she could llose it int he van. Bah! How long do we have for this? I also need to refind the project it'self. Since I couldn't work on it I "put it away where I could find it later" HA!

So many typos, so little time to fix them...

That is so generous of you! I spoke to the manager of Starbucks Bothwell St. and he thinks it's an amazing idea. He said they could put it up on an ebay charity auction with a set minimum price of what ever you felt was right. He also said that the scarf & a poster about the auction could travel round all the starbucks stores in town to be put on display to encourage more people to join in & donate Smiley

AIMR -  why dont you PM me what you think would be a good starting price?

jexxican  - Im glad you managed to find you hook! technically we have all year to reach the full length but we would love to do this as quickly as possible - the quicker we do it the more press (and dontations) we can hopefully get Smiley

Is it being kept at the Starbucks?  It would be great if they could keep a progress chart on it...like we do with our thermometer goal thing...that is wonderful!!! 28 meters=91 feet for the metric challenged...Grin

Do people pledge by the meter?  I know when we do bowling for charity, they pledge a certain amount for each pin hit.  I raised over $1000 for Big Brother/Big Sister because my friends thought I could not bowl and I did not tell them that I used to be in college league! Grin

That is a great start
I've only been in a Starbucks once, because of MOPS, and I didn't really enjoy the atmosphere. It probably didn't help that I don't drink coffee. Or the other moms that were there. But yeah, it's great that they are doing this fund raiser.

AIMR, so your friends didn't know you as well as they thought they did. Sneaky, but for a good cause. Grin
