Willing to personal swap for art of my doggies!

I took a small workshop on long and short stitch thread painting in the Fall and started this project during the class, and finally finished it.  I am in love with the technique, even though it is quite time intensive.  I am very happy with how it turned out, and am keeping it for me me me.

I am so happy to have learned this to improve and add to my techniques/knowledge, and am looking forward to trying something else with it - it felt very meditative to work on this project.

Comments/constructive criticism always welcome.

Here is a bit more about it on my blog

Well, here is my criticizm...it should be at my house!!!! Grin What a wonderful intricate piece. If I created it, I would keep it for me me me, too. Great job, and so happy that you are learning a new skill. I can bet that it took you a long time. Those stitches, and the color blends? Very pretty.

Idea? Next one...blue bird. I bet you could do a good feather job with that project. The peach chest, and blue feathers. They would be wonderful with this technique. Just a thought. I will be rocking you.

That's funny - I was thinking of something blue as well... I was thinking maybe a blue flower again, but I do love birds - so I will definitely keep that it mind!  It did take a long time, but it did not feel long.  I probably could have thrown more stitches in for even more blending, but then there are times when I get fearful that fiddling with it too much may ruin it, kwim?  But I found that I could do a petal in about a 1 hour time span, so I often did it while watching TV with DH.

Thank you!  I'm taking the suggestion of a bluebird under serious advisement,  as a possible next project Smiley

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

wow, onyxnox this is gorgeous.  Your first project of this kind??  amazing.  You obviously have not only skill but patience.  (I have a little of the first but less of the second).  I think you're in Toronto? as am I.  Where did you take the class?

Thank you - I thought I may not have the patience for it too, but it was actually very meditative, and peaceful, so I enjoyed the time spent on it.  It was one of the workshops offered at the Creativ Festival that they have at the Metro Convention Centre in the Fall.  I have been going for about 15 years to the trade show, but started taking workshops there for the past three years, and I love it.

It can be pricey depending on what package you get, but it is my huge treat to myself
