I spent a bit of time recently scouring the road outside my local scrapyard for bits and bobs that hadn't made it into the yard. It's always surprising what you can find! Once they're thoroughly cleaned up it's amazing what they can be turned into!

I've had the box in my stash for a while, just waiting for the right time to use it. The half cog (new but aged with inks) fitted the top perfectly so I was lucky I didn't have to go looking for another one. The dominoes were from a set of vintage 'Dominoes for the Blind' I picked up in a charity shop. I love them, they're so knobbly! Cheesy

Thanks to my friend Sam Ryley for the ace photo. You can always tell which are mine and which I've pestered him to take Tongue

And for fun, some of the loot... Cheesy

Fantastic. I love the heart inside too.

And what lovely junk. I have been scouring my basement for junk, but we really just do not have such cool stuff. There is a scrap recycle place not far from here....hmmm, I may have to go scrounging when this latest string of snow storms melt off...like in April or May!

Nice assemblage! The heart looks a bit tortured... Of course, it was ripped out and placed in a box, so I guess it *feels* tortured as well. Smiley

I spy a horsey head in your pile of junk.

Thank you!

The photo shows about half of it, there was all sorts in there. Ooh I spy the head too, it just needs ears!

Car scrapyards are pretty good places to look too. They usually don't charge me much more then a couple of pounds for small bits from the floor. Sadly we have a reliable car now so I don't often get the fun day out looking round while my bloke hunts for his car parts Cheesy

So interesting because I would never myself think to pick up any of those parts and pieces, but you do and then you create awesome things out of them.  You have an amazingly creative brain.  I love this little shrine.

What's your favorite glue to use to adhere everything?

Love this shrine, Phizzy!
Love all your rusty stuff, too. It's so much fun to muck around with, isn't it?

It is! I like that it's saving it from the bin too, and giving it a new purpose.

Thanks so much! I use 3 different glues usually depending on what I'm gluing. A white tacky glue for papers and wood, UHU, and (more often) a modellers superglue which pretty much sticks everything, glass, metal, plastic... You just have to watch your fingers. I've had to unstick mine so many times. DNA with every piece! Cheesy
