Hi everyone! Long-time lurker on craftster but never had much worth posting. However I'm super proud of these pieces I made and wanted to share them. There is a bit of a back story to them.

Last Spring my best friend's 3yr old daughter was diagnosed w/ leukemia. Thankfully she is now in remission and on the mend! Unfortunately due to her treatments, she lost all of her hair (which she does not seem to mind one bit). Then there is my 5yr old daughter who has not had a haircut, aside from a small trim, in her life. She is known for her Rapunzel-like hair but had grown tired of it lately and expressed an interest in donating it. While we are so proud of her, it certainly pained me to hear the scissors crunching through that ponytail as it sliced away 9 inches of hair.  Cry

Long story longer, I decided that I wanted to preserve some of her hair but didn't love the idea of shoving it in a baby book. I've always been fascinated by Victorian hair art. So to commemorate my daughter's gesture, I created these lockets of her hair. I sectioned out a small portion of hair from her donation and was able to make 4 lockets - one for us, my best friend, and each set of grandparents.
