So I bought a new house - out in the woods, which is heaven to me.  I'm moving in two weeks so of course I was inspired to take on a new project.  I had seen a bear print on wood that I liked a lot but they were sold out so...why not make my own?   I connected three boards - about 10" x 48" then painted and sanded to make sure the grain and knots showed through.  My present to me for my new woodsy house.  Smiley

I loves him!  Or her!  I'm excited for you for your move! We moved to the woods about 15 months ago and it's grand.  And bear-y.

I love it!

And your new house in the woods sounds awesome!
(Hardly any woods left here in Belgium or the Netherlands...)

Funny you say that - I noticed the previous owner rented a dumpster that he kept down by the road.  Wink

Love it! I wish I could move to the woods! In the meantime I do enjoy the occasional camping trip. Once I saw a bear and the light was hitting it in such a way that I could see a dust cloud all around it. I nicknamed him/her "dusty butt"!

I love the way the wood grain shows thru too. It really adds some rustic appeal to an already amazing painting. Love it! Have fun in your new home!

Beautiful wood painting. It's great that one can see the wood grain.
I would be scared to see a bear sitting in my garden, even if I lived in a place where there are bears. I saw some at a nature park, they are very agile and were climbing up the trees. That's what scared me the most, climbing up a tree would not help avoiding a grumpy bear. Yours doesn't look grumpy at all, but friendly. one could almost give him a bear hug!

Oh, I love this so much!  IF, I ever get the house of my dreams, in the location of my dreams, I would want something like in my house too!  He's just begging for a little sweet smakerel of something.

I hope your painting is the only close up bear you see at your new home!  I too love the way you have the wood grain showing through, that adds so much coolness to your finished piece Smiley

Enjoy your new home, I have fond memories of living out in the "bush" as we call it in Northern Alberta Cheesy
