In 2012, I was admitted to a psychiatric facility with acute psychosis. In the days leading up to that, I kept an art journal. Vague as the memories of that time are now, those pages still remind me of how bad a condition I was in. I'm not sure why, but I wanted to share a couple of them. I suppose enough time has passed since then.

Kudos to you in sharing this. I made a lot of art and wrote a lot when I was experiencing manic psychosis, too. I had no idea I was "insane" at the time, but I came up with some pretty cool stuff. One thing I designed I ended up getting tattooed. It's amazing what the mind comes up with during those times.

Thank you very much!
My period of illness was probably one of the most creative times of my life; I don't think I've ever drawn and written more than I did then. Psychosis certainly does something to the creative part of the mind… The awareness of "insanity" came and went; there were times I was highly aware that there was "something wrong" with me, and times I just went off the deep end in delusion for days. Coincidentally, I've also wanted to get a tattoo of something inspired by my drawings. I'm still saving up to have it done by a reputable artist though. (broke college student and all… I'm pretty sure my first real wage will be spent on scratching off some things from my tattoo wish list ^^)
