My partner, pioneer9, has received and has asked me to post a photo of what I made for her. Here is the front of her neighborhood page

and here is the back - I like the way the back looks!

I had more crafty fun making this than I have had in a long while! I may have to make myself one  Smiley

I hope its what you had in mind (or better), pioneer9!

The front is beautiful, but I like the back, too. It almost looks like a sketch you made to draft the design. Very neat use of the fabrics and patterns on them. I love the touch of reds. It really makes this page "pop". And a very neat study of the roof lines. Very unique. You certainly put much time and effort into this page.

"playswithneedles" The Art Journal neighborhood page is Lovely I love the ones in the distant & then comes alive with pretty roofs & pops of color. The back is very interesting too! I would love to live there! Awesome design!!   Grin

We're taking our computers in to get clean out of virus & malware etc  So if you don't hear from me that's why. Hopefully we'll get them done today or maybe tomorrow, I hope not over the weekend.  Huh

I love that neighbourhood page too! It really looks like a view of an actual place. And the back reminds me of an Etch-A-Sketch drawing, which suggests all sorts of interesting ideas...

I'm so glad your page arrived safely, cmarion. I was so afraid the little pressed cedar sprig would disintegrate in the mail. (In answer to the question, it's not really preserved at all, though I put a coat of matte acrylic medium on it in hopes it would make it less crumbly, but it didn't seem to make a lot of difference.) The square in the lower left is actually a piece of very delicate Japanese paper (from an ephemera swap), tinted with watercolour. It made me think of a sand dollar.

And I'm totally up for Round 3 - this has become one of my favourite swaps - cheap to mail, so much fun to do, and endlessly creative!

Whoowee - Love that skyline page. And the back. If I could sew that neatly, I'd leave my backs exposed too!

And the bird page - of course I love it. If it happens to accidentally fly my way, I have a home for it - hee hee.

Great swap everyone, once again. I'm glad you're all enjoying it - I am too. In fact I am making a fabric book with my Pre-K kids for the school's auction in April and a book for my parents, in honor of their 80th birthdays. My dad's b'day was in November and it wasn't quite finished. But my mom's is in April so I hope to finish it before then.

"Smmarrt" That's so neat making the journals with your class!!  I'm sure the journals for your parents will be loved & be very meaningful to them.
