Glad you liked the birches Wulf. And it is a whopping 4" x 6" in size. Fun to do and yes, I had to tromp through snow and search out birch twigs. Birch trees don't grow natively in Connecticut where I am, so only planted ones and most are in yards. I finally found one by the side of the road that had suckers low enough to cut. Fun, but absolutely necessary! Then I wrapped them with thread...so silly.

I love all the different interpretations of a fabric page. Smmaart your bright and cheery page is wonderful. The Owl and tree in browns are fantastic.

"Smmarrt" Love all the detail on the journal page you made "Kookaloo_Starr" I like the hippy style! Great design! Cheesy

"cmarion3" I really like trees & nature & the real tree twigs makes it like 3D Love it! Very Cool Design!! Cheesy

On the taking pics with your cell phone I did use my cell phone to take pics of the journal page that I received from "angielou1" & they seam to have turn out ok & I didn't have to turn them. My first time doing this, my camera needed to be charge & I didn't want to wait so I used my cell phone. Maybe I was just lucky I don't know.

I'll be sending tomorrow to "angielou1"  Wink

Cmarion's page is very 3D, Sharalee - my scanner didn't like it so I had to take a camera pic.

I wonder why there are no birch trees in Connecticut. You've got to be part of the Carolinian or Eastern Woodlands forest the same as us. Hmmm...

Anyway, my suspicions about not having received mail for a week are justified. According to local TV news this evening, it's been a problem all across the city, with mail piling up in postal stations. It seems Canada Post hasn't been hiring new letter carriers to replace those who quit or retire, and there are no longer enough to keep up with the deliveries. Canada Post, of course, denies that there have been any problems at all. Angry

According to the maps, Connecticut is at the lower reaches of the birch tree range for the Northeast. They grow along the Connecticut river, but the rest of Connecticut is mostly Maple and Oak and White Pine. Go figure. I'm a bit east of the Connecticut river. The twigs of white birch are dark red....another go figure.

We have birch trees in PA...we have two types...white birches and river birches...I love collecting the bark each year.  I just love how you used the little twigs...

oh Wulf...I am thinking your ATB as well as three of my other swap packages might be stuck in Canadian mail...that makes me sad...

At least you got your gorgeous fabric page!

Here is the beautiful and meaningful page I received today from mariak:

It says "Do not regret growing older it is a privilege denied to many."  This is a sentiment close to my heart.  I will be adding this page to my Fabric Art Journal.

Thank you, mariak!  Smiley

That is a lovely and meaningful sentiment and page.

And I know that weather is wreaking havoc on the East Coast - so no worries if you have to send a day or two late. We understand. Be safe and make more pages while you're snowed in!

AHHG! I've been sick on and off for about a week. There was a cold that's hanging around at our house and keeps "giving" from one sibling to another and I finally came down with it. Ugh!
But feeling better enough to get a chance to go online and see how things are going in the swap. AND WOW so many new great pages!!
I really wish I could comment on all of great pages but getting a bad headache and eyes hurt. Will need to check back soon as can.
