Another piece I did around the new year. I really wanted to do a crane; I have one in my personal collection but I haven't tried making one before. I thought it might be good for a new year's theme and added some fireworks.

I created a loop and threaded pieces of wire through the loop, then twisted the ends together to create a bunch of them from one central point.

This is what the firework looks like when it's attached to the hair prong and spread out/arranged nicely.

This is how it was attached in the back, with a stronger piece of wire. The decorative sparkly cloth wrapped wire is very thin and wouldn't be very stable on its own.

This is the wire base of the bird. I took a strong piece of wire, bent it into a bird shape, then wrapped the decorative wire around it.

And the wire base of the bird and two fireworks are attached to the hair prong.

I made a paper body for the bird, and started applying 'feathers.'

And now it's done!

This is so lovely. Thank you for explaining how you make them. Fascinating. They are lovely together or even apart.
