Another piece I did around the new year. I really wanted to do a crane; I have one in my personal collection but I haven't tried making one before. I thought it might be good for a new year's theme and added some fireworks.



I created a loop and threaded pieces of wire through the loop, then twisted the ends together to create a bunch of them from one central point.


This is what the firework looks like when it's attached to the hair prong and spread out/arranged nicely.


This is how it was attached in the back, with a stronger piece of wire. The decorative sparkly cloth wrapped wire is very thin and wouldn't be very stable on its own.


This is the wire base of the bird. I took a strong piece of wire, bent it into a bird shape, then wrapped the decorative wire around it.


And the wire base of the bird and two fireworks are attached to the hair prong.


I made a paper body for the bird, and started applying 'feathers.'


And now it's done!
