I am wanting to sew a Queen Elsa costume for my 3 yr old daughter and am looking for a pattern of a dress or skirt that will look similar to hers. Most dresses that I find for little girls are A-line. I'm fairly new to sewing and am taking on a big project, but I've wanted to make this for her since I've seen the movie! Any ideas?

Here's a picture of the dress I want, minus the high slit on the thigh Smiley

Any long dress pattern would be good. Check for the "easy" patterns since you feel you're a beginner. Also there are costume patterns available and you could alter to suit the character. Smiley

The easiest thing that I do is get a dress she has that fits her really good and turn it inside out and make my pattern from there. You could add longer sleeves or length in the dress. I've wanted to make one for my 2 year old too! The ones he sell a Walmart don't resemble the one she wears in the movie that much. Good luck!
