I've got a few large projects on the go.  I think I'm going to try to finish this one this year.

It's quite involved, but I enjoy all the colors involved. ^_^

I know right? haha I'm not sure what I was thinking when I bought that kit.  It may be big project stitch along 2014-2015 for that one! Cheesy

(So no matter which way, horizontal or vertical, I take a pic of this it flips it.) Here is the beginning of my project.  It's the same series (Disney Dreams) like the one I posted earlier but this is a scaled back version.  Once finished it will be Tinkerbell and the buildings below.

I figured I will finish this one first before I tackle the giant Cinderella one.  Cheesy

Junior_Mint- Looks great so far!  Can't wait to see more progress.

Well my huge Japanese Beauty pattern is a couple stitches off and I can't really fix it because I've done too much stitching.  While it looks OK, it's bugging me and I'm getting a little burnt out on it.  So I set her aside and decided to start the Disney Dreams Little Mermaid (the smaller 7" by 5" version).  Rather than randomly attacking it like I sometimes do with patterns, I've started in the upper left corner and am stitching 10x10 areas at a time.  I've done 200 squares so far and there have been like a trillion color changes.  But it's going to look pretty cool when I'm finished.  I hope.

Hi!  I started the Big Project Stitch Along 2007, and am back as I finish this:

My progress thus far.  I started in 2013, want to finish this year.  This is the most difficult project I've worked on, sooo many thread colour changes and lots of blending.

You're only doing 10 x 10 at a time? I can't wrap my head around this. I have to do all of one color before I can move on to the next. Speaking of which, I will be joining you guys. I have a X-stitch I started in January and I was wanting to have finished by today but my camera died in January and I am wanting to take pics after each color is finished and put them into a .gif so I had to stop after my 4th color. Got the camera working again this week so now I can work on the stitchery again! I'll see about getting my last pic up to share with you guys soon. But I don't think I will have a lot of time in March because I have other super big goals to work on. *sigh* Whatever, it will be done before too long, I hope.
Here is my guy, though! So far I have 4 shades of green done.

I try to finish one color, but then I get bored, so when my needle runs out, I move on to a different color.

Jexxican, that is really pretty!

Here is my February progress.  Knowing i committed to update at the end of every month helped motivate me to work on it.

End of February Progress by Blackbird Pie, on Flickr

I tend to do chunks at a time.  Not as precise as 10 x 10 but I'll pick a section, like the house or haystack for example, and work on that.  I am glad to be done that dumb haystack!  It doesn't look like much, but had a ridiculous number of colour changes.

What do you guys do while stitching? I am watching The Good Wife on Netflix while working on this project and I'm now on Season 3.

Wow, that looks amazing!  I admire your patience, some of those innocent seeming bits will color change every other stitch, it seems!

I tend to stitch while watching tv also.  I recently finished up Gilmore Girls (borrowed from a friend, I must buy!), and now I am watching Once Upon a Time.

I'm painting my needlepoint canvas now, hope to have pics up by the end of the week.

Here's my big project for 2014:

I adapted this pattern from the 1997 Keepsake Calendar:

I replaced the seals with my sons' names and dates-of-birth, and added some extra animals to make a circle using PCStitch. Right now my cat is lying on top of my cross-stitch bag  Wink, so I'll have to post a picture of my progress later on!

The way you altered that pattern is amazing! Honestly it looks better than the original, especially with the personalization.

Yeah, I still haven't worked on my project since before I joined this thread, but I did get my camera battery charged so maybe it will be my goal for May? Or to a certain point will be my goal for May? We will see how s*** goes down with my sister. *sigh*

That adaptation of a pattern is truly impressive, very nice work!

I missed my Mar deadline, but had little to show.  Maybe April will show more progress, but as we're about to demolish and DIY our kitchen, so maybe not.

Please do join in with the end of the month progress shots.  I found it a bit motivating as well (at least in January, ha).

Here is my March & April progress.  Just a bit of snow on the left side and I started the horsies.

Likely May will be a slow month too- we are mid-DIY-kitchen reno.  The kettle is in the living room, the dishwasher is downstairs, and everything is covered in drywall dust.  However, it will be nice to open cupboard doors without them coming off in my hand.

I've been a bit more motivated this month, which I attribute to Veronica Mars popping up on Canadian Netflix.  Always wanted to watch it, and now I'm nearing the end of Season 2 so I've gotten in quite a few hours on this project in May.

Horsies!  If I keep up this pace I will have no trouble finishing this by October.

I started this cross stitch a while back, and while it isn't as large as some of the other amazing ones, it has been an ongoing work in progress.
This is a kit that I got as a gift.  It is Stitcher's Gallery kit: Natures Patchwork.

This is when I picked it back up around Feb/2014.

Work and life got in the way again.  This is what it looks like now, as I am about to pick it back up again July/2014.  Grin

I'm hoping it will be done before the end of the year.  Grin
