I LOVE my crockpot! I use it at least one time a week. I've cooked ribs, roast, steak tips and of course soups and chili. Do you have any tips or awesome recipes for the crockpot?

Has anyone tried to cook a cake in it? I'm so curious about all the pins that say you can do that.

I love my crock pot too!  I am a rather picky eater though so I don't make a whole ton of stuff in it.  I love to make pork loin, roasts, and tacos!

My favorite tip: USE the crock pot liner bags!

Crockpot liners! Why have I not heard of these before?  I need to get some.

You get them in the area where they sell Ziploc baggies.  They are so wonderful!  Makes clean up a snap Smiley  So are we going to share favorite recipes?

We should have a crock pot challenge where all try the same recipe... such as baking a cake!  There is also a wing recipe I found on Pinterest that I am curious about...

Here is my first recipe for chicken tacos.  These are FABULOUS and so easy!  I usually also make my own shells whenever we have these.  http://www.pinterest.com/pin/186336503301938106/

I love the crock pot! I make a lot of bone broth, once a week usually. I put it on overnight which makes it a bit hard to sleep with that lovely scent in the air all night, lol.
I would never, ever cook with a liner though, I don't use any sort of plastic with food. Besides, it's really not any more difficult to clean a crock than anything else.

I haven't successfully roasted a chicken in the crock pot but I'm going to try that sometime. My mistake is adding veggies, everything sweats and I end up with soup. Which is fine, soup is delicious! But that's not a roasted chicken, lol

I've made a pretty good BBQ brisket in there. I'm always so bad about gauging my veggies when I make a roast.

I also love my crock pot, I actually have two of them! The two things that I love to make the most in them are Hawaiian Pork which is a big roast, we rub ours with black salt and liquid smoke, wrap it in ti leaves (you can get them from most florists), then foil and let'r go! The leaves (you can also just use foil if you like or can't find the leaves) keep a really nice moisture next to the meat and that liquid smoke is MAGIC. If anyone wants the actual recipe, I'll chase it down.

For desert, my favorite (which seriously has the ugliest name) is Dump Cake. You literally dump in a few things, swirl with a wooden spoon and put the lid on. In a few hours, you have this scoopable, moist cake that is TO DIE FOR and goes great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It's so good it'll make your eyes roll back in your head.

Now I want to go home and start a dump cake Wink
