Creativity whether related to art or craft is a personal expression from the creator. I'm happy to receive what others choose to share if it is from the heart. Their inspiration can guide them just fine without external forces editing them, imo. All of the items presented so far are wonderful and even if I was not able to use it, I would make sure it found a place with someone who appreciated it.

Gourds for birdhouses or containers. ... maybe the wintry connection can be that it is something springy to help you survive until winter is over  Wink

One of the reasons I think a theme is a good thing is because it requires me to stretch my imagination and my crafting muscles, to try new things I might not have otherwise.  For example, the cowl I've been working on, isn't working out to my liking.  So I did a little searching to come up with something else and found a new knitting method that I'm going to try that I think I'm going to be happier with.  I would never have gone looking if I wasn't determined to stay in the theme (and use stash items  Wink). Just my 2.  Cheesy

I find having a theme challenges me to be more creative too...I like having a theme! I am not really into steampunk, but I LOVE that cuff!

I have picked out a wintery pattern that isn't at all Christmassy to stitch up.  Hopefully I can get it done in time Smiley

It sounds as if we're going to have a wonderful variety of prizes for this raffle!  There are quite a few things that are being made that wouldn't work for me personally, but I could use absolutely anything you've all mentioned as a wonderful gift for someone I love.  I absolutely love giving Craftster-made gifts!

I'm thinking of making an arctic animal stuffie... would there be any interest?  I've also thought a winter themed mug rug or set of sewn coasters would be nice.  I haven't made my mind up but I'm almost sure I'll be making a sewn item.  I haven't sewn much in the past year or so and I miss it.

Well I did put in the rules that you could interpret the theme however you wanted to....I suppose you could even go more wonderland than winter if you so chose...

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

I think the eggs are a problem if they need to be sent to Europe! Has to do with diseases and so  Sad

I like that cuff! I'm not into steampunk either but I find it appealing anyway!

As about the winter theme, you can stretch that:
the shape of snowflakes
colours of winter or of northern lights
holds your gloves during winter
keeps you sane during winter  Grin because of the colour, inspires you or smells good
keeps your skin nice and healty during winter
keeps your hot choco warm
has the image of a bird that hibernate (googled that, hope it is right) in your country
holds your skates...

SEE?!! I can make it fit the theme  Grin  Grin hahaha! Need more??? I can come up with more!!

I think I drank too much coffee today  Cheesy And I'm just enthousiastic!!

And I hope you do have enough time, lindy! Good luck and have fun stitching!

Gamemom: I love it all! The coasters. mug rug but a stuffie too!! I have two boys and they love mom's swaps  Cheesy
