I started this one around Christmas, but didn't finish it until after the new year. Finally getting around to posting it now. Smiley

Lots of progress shots!

Here's a shot of my color box.

Prepared base pieces.

First flower.

Second Flower.

I struggled a lot with this one; the colors were bleeding a little and the petals look messy.

Third Flower.

Fourth Flower.

Attaching the flowers to the comb.

Adding gold springy sprigs then centers.

Dyeing some ribbons green for a darker shade of leaf.

The ribbons are drying; they get put into a dye set, then dried again, ironed, and finally starched before being cut into squares.

Ta dah! All done.

Details.

I'm impressed by the work that went into it and a bit jealous of people with straight hair who can wear such an attractive hear piece.

Wow! What lovely work.

Thank you! Cheesy <3

I can't think of any reason why having curly hair would prevent you from wearing kanzashi.  You just need to pick an accessory that fits the way your hair is styled.

I'm fascinated with your process. Beautiful work!  Wink

Thank you Cheesy I think sharing the process is important. I might make more involved directions later on.
