G'day,

I'm looking at a Juki DDL-227 to use as a quilting machine (I have a Janome that I will use for piecing but its throat space is way too small for quilting).  I understand that the Juki's are popular for quilting but I wanted to be sure that the DDL-227, which I believe is quite an old machine, is suitable for free motion work and was hoping that someone here might have some experience.

I have googled my heart out and can't find an answer.  I basically just need to know if you can drop the feed dogs and sew with this machine.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
