I made this wall hanging for the baby room, right after she was born (14 months ago!)

I drew a cherry blossom branch on a pizza box, cut it out..

Cut strips from a pair of leotards, and wrapped it around the branches (I work with what I've got)

made a happy little birdie family, to represent mine (I should add another little birdie, seeing as I'm expecting 'another')

cut up a bunch of cardboard flowers, glued on fabric, then stitched the centers, using glow in the dark thread!

The only part I don't like is how camouflaged the name is, on that leopard print fabric... I planned on adding the glow in the dark thread around the letters....... but it's been a year, and it's still not done! : s

Very wonderful wall hanging. Quit spitting them out...you won't need new birds  Grin Just kidding. Congrats on the new baby addition {soon to come}. Interesting idea on how to craft this. If you don't have time for your glow in the dark stitching, how about fabric paint? You know the puffy kind, and just an outline around the letters? Hit it with the hair dryer, and done! Just a thought. Those paints are not too expensive. And only take a short time to work with. Are you having another girl? You could always add another panel under this one with new girl's name. Like a chain hang thing. If they will share a room? Or just stick guys name there, and add a few blue flowers at the top.  Grin His and hers. Just ideas.
