I've tried to get the New Year off to an appropriately crafty start. I know it might not seem much but I'm aiming to make at least one project a month this year - I think I ran out of steam a bit towards the end of last year so I want to try and keep momentum going as I do enjoy sewing once I get stuck in.

For the first project of the year I returned to my trusty 101 ways to sew a metre books (or yards if you are in the USA). I like these books and whilst I've encountered the odd issue I generally find the patterns easy to follow and in some cases I've made use of patterns over and over. I attempted the Cap Sleeve Bolero once before in a cheap cotton and made it far too small which I realised early on and so abandoned. I made the largest size this time in a lovely red dotty fabric (although it was a nightmare for fraying - we have red threads all over the house!). I find it a little tight on my back so I think if/when I make it again I would maybe only put two tucks at the back and not four.  Anyway photos below, let me know what you think  Smiley

It looks great. I especially like the collar.

The collar is a bit I found tricky - It wasn't entirely clear to me how it joined at the front so I just did the best I could from looking at the pictures in the book.
