Okay, I'm not sure if I'm joining yet due to time (last semester of my Master's, yikes!), but I AM considering it, mostly because I always plan to make something  HUGE/GIANT/ENORMOUS and just make smaller things because I'm lazy busy. But because I love making lists, I started on lists for this swap. Hm...

Giant Items I Might Want:
- knit/crocheted sweater or cardigan with something excellent on it (bats?)
- chain maille jewellery
- a dress
- screen printed fabric
- pottery?

Giant Items I Might Make:
- weekender or other BIG PROJECT bag
- a simpler bag (tote, hobo, messenger, etc.) with embellishment (stencilling, embroidery, beading, etc)
- "build a bag" - have a dream bag? I'm good at bag design Wink
(Yes, that's three bag types in a row. What can I say, I like making bags!)
- beaded art piece
- bead/embroidery/fabric/etc! art piece (like this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=282279.0 - not mine, but I've been wanting to do something similar and haven't had the motivation)
- stencilled family "portrait" - on several canvases?

Oh, and since I saw the vigorous discussion on the Swap Idea board, and I've been in, um, quite a few swaps, I thought I'd offer my two cents: for this kind of ONE FABULOUS ITEM swap, I'd much rather be sending to a person who most wants what I can make and receiving from a person who can make what I most want... rather than directly paired with a person where we kind of fit each other's wishes.

I'm really interested in this - but I'm not sure if anyone else would be interested in the kind of stuff I can offer to make... hmm...

I mostly do embroidery / cross-stitch, hand sewing, hand-quilting / patchwork. So decorated objects. Just wall-art, sets of hoopla, monogrammed stuff etc.
Or more functional fabric stuff like...  fabric-bound books or re-usable book covers, small bags / pouches / cases (laptop, glasses, phone, pencil, cosmetic...), coin purse type things, wallets / holders (eg tea wallets, craft project carry cases, or to carry around your whatever), mug-rugs / hugs / coasters/ table settings etc, napkin rings / cable tidies etc, small fabric project baskets / boxes,
more random stuff like this)
basically if it's simple enough in construction to be hand-sewn, and you'd like a nice one in your choice of style... I'm up for it

or... bedsocks? I can't knit really, but I make bedsocks & slippersocks on a loom, my family seems to like them for christmas (or maybe they were polite the first time and have regretted it since!. A couple of pairs would come out at a huge in terms of swap sizes Smiley

so... I'd like to sign-up, but I feel like what I can offer that I'm skilled enough to make a huge for is quite specialised, so I thought I'd check if anyone wanted that sort of thing first? do most people know what they are going to ask for in this swap?

I think a lot of those could be changed into "GIANT AND FABULOUS" and of interest to folks. One thing I might be interested would be like a dining set for my kitchen. How neat would that be?

Well, I could offer an acrylic painting, a water color painting, or a large stuffed animal.  I would like to receive a quilt, a large stuffed animal, or an art doll, or a large knitted or crocheted stuffed animal.  If any of that appeals to anybody, I might join.

I couldn't do a whole quilt (i hand sew my patchwork) but i could defo offer a table runner, or a set of placemats and napkin holders - was that the sort of thing you were thinking psyche?

People offering stuffed toys - would you be be able to manage a giraffe 'shaped' draught exculder ? (a lying down giraffe i guess..  ) I'm thinking in the style of those sausage dog or snake ones.

Should I tell you the story of the elephant?
I bought an elephant from Ikea (five yrs ago) for my hubby as a Christmas present.  My son immediately claimed it and can't be without it.  Two years ago, I purchased another one for my hubby.... guess where it is Smiley  This year, my son spotted them and announced that we should get Dad an elephant just for himself.  Want to know who keeps trying to claim it?  Our greyhound Denise.  She loves sleeping with it.
