Details of swap: (thanks to the former Geezer swap for the outline)

The Huge, Giant, Enormous Swap is for one really nice big item. This should be something youre great at, not just trying for the first time. Think about your best of the best when listing things you can make.

This is also a swap where there is a sizable commitment, both for time and resources.  We are going to be crafting one really big, really nice item for our partner.  If you cannot commit to the time or resources, please consider carefully before signing up for this swap.

You'll make up a list of 5-10 huge things that you would love if someone made for you.  You'll also make up a list of 5-10 things that you're really good at, that you'd love to make for your fellow craftsters.

What's a Huge item, you ask?  generally, we're talking something that takes 4 or more hours, is large in physical size, or costs $40 or more in materials (or any combination of those).

You need to post to this thread, at least once a week, checking in on progress.

No flakers!  We all will have six weeks to craft and send out.  That should be enough time. A DC is required if you send within the USA, international senders MUST send me a scan of your postal receipt, showing that the package was sent out.

If you are a week late sending (after the send out date) you will receive a temporary negative. This will be changed back to In Progress upon proof of sending.

If you want to participate, complete & pm the following to both organizers:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap: Huge, Giant, Enormous Swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address including the country
Confirm that you are 18 years old or older before Jan 18, 2014 (yes/no)
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country (If so you MUST be willing to ship air postal or an equivalent which will take a maximum of 3 weeks.) Are you willing?
Do you promise to take and post pictures of the goodies you send/receive?

Here are the things I would love to death if someone made for me (don't forget to include color and size preferences, and link if an example or the pattern is available)
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

Which one would you want the most?

Here are the things I'm really really good at, and would love to make for my partner (don't forget to include link if an example or the pattern is out there on the web):
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

Anything you do not like or want to receive:

Does anyone in your household smoke?

What kinds of pets do you have, if any? (allergy reasons)

Any other information you want to pass along - allergies, strong preferences, etc.

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZERS (zadok & saintcady) VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide http://www.craftster.org/swapsinfo.html to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

I'm really interested in this - but I'm not sure if anyone else would be interested in the kind of stuff I can offer to make... hmm...

I mostly do embroidery / cross-stitch, hand sewing, hand-quilting / patchwork. So decorated objects. Just wall-art, sets of hoopla, monogrammed stuff etc.
Or more functional fabric stuff like...  fabric-bound books or re-usable book covers, small bags / pouches / cases (laptop, glasses, phone, pencil, cosmetic...), coin purse type things, wallets / holders (eg tea wallets, craft project carry cases, or to carry around your whatever), mug-rugs / hugs / coasters/ table settings etc, napkin rings / cable tidies etc, small fabric project baskets / boxes,
more random stuff like this)
basically if it's simple enough in construction to be hand-sewn, and you'd like a nice one in your choice of style... I'm up for it

or... bedsocks? I can't knit really, but I make bedsocks & slippersocks on a loom, my family seems to like them for christmas (or maybe they were polite the first time and have regretted it since!. A couple of pairs would come out at a huge in terms of swap sizes Smiley

so... I'd like to sign-up, but I feel like what I can offer that I'm skilled enough to make a huge for is quite specialised, so I thought I'd check if anyone wanted that sort of thing first? do most people know what they are going to ask for in this swap?

If I join I'd mostly ask for quilts or some sort of wall art. We just moved into an apartment and my walls are bare. Lol

Feel free to post lists of things you can do/would like for the swap. It could really help others with their own lists.  Wink

I was thinking about possibly making someone a yarn tail: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=551331&ppuser=307442#axzz2pyDMFFhK
