i made this mug for a craft swap.
i admired cinnamon teal's sgraffito goldfish bowls and wanted to play around with the technique as its not one i have really used much. i layered white then blue then black glazes then scraped the design using a sgraffito tool and a craft knife

close up of the coaster showing the blue glaze

really pleased with how this turned out Smiley

This is beautiful!  Lucky swap partner.  I'm going to pin this AND push "This rocks."  Excellent work!  You really capture the spirit of the birch!

I, too, admire the work of cinnamonteal...but I see that I have a new person's work to admire as well! Grin

Lovely...I love the glints of blue glaze...really nice and interesting technique...almost looks like woodblock prints...

Maxxev, I hope you realize that if I was anywhere near you, I would probably right now be sitting in front of your, staring adoringly at you as I bask in your brilliance (or trying to sneak out your latest creation under my jacket).  I saw this and knew even before looking at the topic that you made it, and I love it.  BTW, I look at my beautiful Death plate everyday, as it is hung right across from my work table.  Pinning this to the many other pins I have of your stuff.
