in your tutorial you say to use a wipes case to measure...probably because there are different sizes, its just that I don't have one at my house, nor anywhere convenient....except maybe the grocery store...hmmm

Well, I don't use that particular type of wipes case so I don't have one handy to measure for you.  What I would do if I was making it for a gift is to simply buy one of the cases as part of the gift.  My best guess is about 6-7".

Did you use a wipe-able layer for the changing side, or would you just plan on washing the whole thing if the inevitable accident happened? I totally want to make this for my SIL

Princess Sandyhands Smiley

I have 3 kids now and I've laid a baby down on a cold surface...and they usually arch their back and look overall, uncomfortable and cold.  I mean, they're already naked, then I lay them on a cold changing matt!  (My first baby, before I started sewing)  Right?  Smiley So, I always make my changing matts with soft, washable fabrics.  If something gets on it, I would wipe it with a wipe immediately, fold it back up (which generally keeps the mess inside), take it home and wash it.  It's totally what a person prefers though.

Your changing matt looks awesome!!  I really love the silver ribbon you sewed down the middle.  Very cute!  Glad it was a hit with your SIL!
