I might be in, though I've had to take my hooplas down, because the kitten decided the best way to get me out of bed was to pluck them off the wall. She hasn't broken anything (yet), but that sound... Roll Eyes (pounce, ritch-ritch-ritch, crash - suspicious silence)

I love the ones we've been doing with specific themes, the challenge just gets more interesting on themes than on "let's exchange some stuff". Smiley The themes in the past have been very open for interpretation even though they've been specifically set, imo. Though I can't seem to remember them right now... >_>

Not really sure I'd be able to join, but I hope so.

Okay, I'm in, and I can organize! I'm busy with grad school, but I love organizing and I find that being overly controlling over some aspect of my life (craft swap!) makes me LESS stressed overall. Smiley

I could start it anytime from next week on out. Thoughts, votes on timing?

And it looks like most folks are into a theme idea! I did some research and previous round themes include: words, silhouette and negative space, colour spectrum (made with a single colour or colour spectrum), tiny hoopla, diptych (2 piece), not just thread, and a few generic rounds. So most of the previous rounds seem to be technique themes, rather than content themes. But we could go either way! I just want to make sure that the theme would be generic enough for most people feel comfortable with it, as another swapper mentioned. I don't want to alienate anyone (like if it was a spring swap, I wouldn't want to join myself). SO:

Theme Suggestions So Far:
- seasonal; any season you prefer
- things that grow (that's my variation on the flowers/plants theme)
- one colour (or colour spectrum)
- black work (though I don't know if I'd feel comfortable with the crafting part myself!)
- half and half - two different halves
- text/typography
- "pick a theme" - AKA list your top 5 themes (though this would be a bit like not having an overall swap
theme at all) Wink

A few more ideas:
- food and drink
- places - cities, countries, or beyond
- animals and birds

Further thoughts, votes? Smiley

Yay psyche! Anytime is fine with me to start. Here are some more theme ideas:

3+ different kinds of stitching
local (where you live, or where your partner lives)
media (books, tv shows, movies)

I'd love to hear some more!

I like places, best of the subject matter themes - that could go anywhere... Local, or far, or fictional.... Anyway :-) that'd be cool. Typeography would be cool too - i'd like that, but maybe others who already did the text hoopla swap would prefer something new...

Or one colour, that's my favourite technique theme (that could encompass blackwork, too)

Just my 2 cents - for what they're worth.

Yay, thanks psyche!

Places would be really cool, or flora & fauna. The latter could encompass seasons (or at least tree/floral depictions thereof, which is fairly common), animals, birds, flowers, plants, shrooms, what have you... (i.e. combining several of the other theme suggestions) Weird fantasy shrooms are flora too. >_>

The places one feels like something that'd be great to get, but possibly more difficult to produce, depending on what your partner is into Cheesy

for me if it was places I've a few options I wouldn't mind receiving such as race tracks as I'm a petrolhead but then on flip side wonderland from alice in wonderland would also work for me

I'm digging the places theme! It also seems to be the top choice, which is cool for me.

Let's go with places! I'll get this started soon. Possibly the weekend!

Though Flora and Fauna sounds like a great broad theme too. Maybe next time. Wink
