jexxican - that's my fur baby, Ruby... She is three now. Still as adorable, just all grown up.

Maybe I should get a puppy. I'm all baby crazy now but can't have any more of those (thank you Mr Jex!) so maybe a puppy like yours would fill my need.

I'd be interested, and I particularly like the hoopla swaps with a bit of a theme or challenge; like maybe a spring thee, or flowers?  or multiple stitches, or black and white, or bright colours,  or half and half (hoops with two different halves), or text/typography.  I would totally LOVE a blackwork style swap but I don't know if that would attract enough people.
Those are some great themes! I think we are getting more people on this thread so we can start talking themes/dates/organizers.

Who's up for organizing?

When are we doing this? I love hoops. They are simple and portable and give me a break from sock monkeys.

I think a black work theme would be great, but I've never done black work so I might be intimidated myself. A spring/seasonal theme would be cool, too. Or maybe a color hoop swap? I know the color swaps are really big right now so we could follow on that trail. I think I like that idea the best. And then we could do black work if our hearts desired it, right? Wink

Does the embroidery have to be framed in a hoop or does it just have to be a round shape?

I'm interested! If we did a seasonal theme, maybe people could pick their favorite season, not just spring.

I suppose we could work in black work into whatever theme, no?  Like if we go with seasonal who says it has to be in color?  Grin

I'm totally in!  I haven't hoopla'd in a while!  I'll be out of the country for a week in March so I don't think I'd be a good organizer but I definitely want to participate!

If we go for a subject-matter theme, can we keep it pretty open to interpretation?
For example, something like a flowers theme wouldn't interest  me at all - but if its a bit more open, like plants, then more people would be able to find an interest in that because it can be interpreted more ways (flowers, trees, all other plant life.... )

Personally i prefer themes that are more about the techniques used, as i find it easier to adapt this to a subject matter my partner likes - and they encourage me to push my creative boundaries  at the same time.  for example, a monochrome theme (which could include blackwork/redwork) would be really cool.

That said, if we do go for a subject-matter theme, I'm still in as long as its broad enough

maybe like other swaps you can have a list of so many themes that you like for your partner to choose from?  Smiley

I'm interested, just depends on timing. My life is chaos at the moment, so if it gets organized, could someone PM me?

My hoopla wall loves getting new members and I like learning new stitches or techniques.
