So, I wore the heck out of my favorite boots. They can't be re-soled. I can't bear to part with them because the shafts are in great shape--nice, soft leather with a kind of insulated lining. There are some small buckles at the cuff which might be incorporated into this upcycle.

Some ideas:
-Boot purse (I've seen ones made from cowboy boot tops)
-Boot toppers (not crazy about this--they always look like, well, re-used boot tops)
-Bracelets, etc made from the leather

Thank you in advance for any and all ideas, you creative folks! I am stuck so I figured I'd throw it out here (NOT into the landfill!) and see what other ideas are out there!

Is doing the hokey-pokey and turning yourself around really what it's all about?

I like the bracelet/cuff idea, what about a belt? Are they long enough to attach to each other? Would be a thick belt/corset type thing

With the buckles, it would be tempting to refashion one of them into a cuff.  What about making a small purse, change purse, or wallet with the other buckled closure, or re-purpose it into a cover/holder for a notebook/journal/address book, or a holder for a cellphone, or use the larger part for a small tablet or ebook.

Would they work as a 'leg warmer' over the top of your jeans. Even if you only used them around the house it would keep your ankles warm.  And the hippy soul that I have would want to bling up the cuff with beads and charms 'Just cos I like bling'.

You could refashion them into spats. Wink
