For one of the swaps, I tried my hand at the chenilling that cmarion posted:

I think I can improve on this and will be trying again soon, but was pleased with my first attempt.

YAY! Chenilling or however you spell it. I love the colors fraying through the dark cover. Great skull too. I find it a bit addicting, piling up all those scraps of fabric. I have a bag by my sewing machine that all little scraps go into so I have lots of scraps to work with.

I keep scraps and had a fair few to play with, was never sure what I was going to do with them until you posted this idea. I can't wait to have another go.

Smmarrt, I like the green color of your pages. It goes well with the book page bits.

Chenilling looks like fun. I like the spiraling eyes, they're fun.

I feel like I haven't completed anything for a while, yet I have had ideas, created wips and not progressed.

So, I did this. My writing is a bit rubbish - it reads 'I need to do stuff'

I am hoping the fabric journal swap will spark my own journal making pages..I got stalled out at the drawing phase and not the making phase...

I really want to try that spray starch technique...

Also, Renstar...I must try that chenilling...I have seen it in quilts...

Smmarrt...love your dream pages...

Love the skull!!

I'm slacking on my journal pages as well. Once the weather gets nice, my sewing machine gets dusty!  Embarrassed

Read this quote:

"You are all amazing sparks of divine love with the unlimited potential to shine bright in this world. You have a style and a presence that is truly unique to you." -Tracy Verdugo

Then read it again slowly. Wow. Journal that!

It's from this post.. .http://www.clothpaperscissors.com/blogs/clothpaperscissorstoday/archive/2014/06/02/if-you-read-anything-online-today-read-this.aspx

Some great ideas.

Here's another quote:

I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it's true I'm here, and I'm just as strange as you.
