cmarion--I do the same thing except I use my old huge desk calendar pages from work...they have notes and appointments I have written in, coffee stains, pizza sauce, etc. Then when it gets too much, I cut them into workable pages for all sorts of projects...ha...we all think alike in so many ways!!

teag---you are indeed all those things!!!  Nicely done!

Smmarrt---your colors pattern turned out wonderful as a back drop for your art doll...so did the kids!

Ooooeyy. Renstar, please add what you used to make this. More details? Is it glitter paints? Or glue and glitter? That is very pretty.

The butterfly and flowers are glitter gel pens. I got them cheap when a local store was closing down. They are pretty cool.

Here's the thank you page I sent to alwaysinmyroom:

I played around with watercolors on muslin and used a paint pen for the dots. I also used some duck cloth as a middle layer to make a sturdier page.

It was super fun to make and I can't wait to play around some more.

stillatthetop - your lipstick idea gave me an idea for how to "finish" my husband's page with tire marks. I'm going to see how it looks this weekend.

Great use of the glitter gel, Renstar! I should play with some of those, too.

That is a wonderful page! Abbeeroad, Crazy hair, and the bird? Neat. Call it "Bad Hair Day". Grin

And yes...tire marks. I have tons of toy wheels in my box of rubber stamps. I drive all over stuff sometimes.
I eat to use maps for backgrounds...and somehow wheels just end up needing to be there. Go figure  Roll Eyes

I can't wait to see what members come up with next.

But, I had to comment on my lovely page...bad hair day?  uh, that is how my hair looks on good hair days!! Grin

Thanks, Abbeeroad...I eat it!

Lol...it was untitled and I did try to solicit a title from friends and family, but to no avail. Bad hair day wins by default. Tongue

I'm glad you like it always!

It was not "de-fault" of me  Grin And I sure hope that is not a good hair day for anyone. Cheesy

I have a request for ideas. I have magazine pages with really neat images. They are ads from my ladies books. Very colorful for backgrounds. Other than sanding them, I can't decide a good way to destress them and blend them in with things. There are some with candies all over, some with colorful fabrics, etc.

I do paper beads, and that was one thought for them. But some I would like to add to journal pages. I use gesso, so that could be added for the journaling part. And written over. I also eat torn edges with my pages, so that is in my weird brain, too. But any other thoughts?  Grin I do some painting, but the mag pages are the glossy kind. And don't always take well to some paints. Any ideas on this from those who have done more of this stuff? Thanks.

If they are photos of people , you can cut them up - arms, legs , etc - and make new, mixed-matched people. And I saw a tutorial on sanding the pages placed on top of a stencil so the design of the stencil comes through the magazine image.
