Somewhere on here I have a post about my "pleather". Not sure where that disappeared to...or maybe it was just in a PM. But this current project brings that to mind, too.

Grocery bags...about 6 layers. Place between two sheets of regular paper. Iron with medium dry iron. It will shrink a bit as the layers seal together, so cut larger than you might need. You can cut to size later.

It looks like leather. Can be painted, easily cut, or sewn. If you don't wish the lettering parts on the bag, then don't use those, just use the better side of the bag that is blank. You can layer colors of bags, too.You basically make your own "fabric" simple with an iron...how cool is that???

I make cigarette lighter covers by stitching them together, and have also used pleather in my journal pages. It can be stitched on, glued on, wrinkled and creased. You can't destroy it. PM and I will mail you the lighter cover pattern to try. It is an easy work up...even if you don't really sew. Down the side, and across the bottom. I like the ones that I turn inside out {seams on the inside after stitching}, but you don't have to do it that way. I do both styles. Some just flat with an outer seam.

Anyway...maybe pleather would work for this project? It is free to try out. Everyone has grocery bags!
The paper is only to keep the iron from sticking. You remove the paper once you have sealed the plastic layers together. But I will bet you can tuck and fold the pleather for the pop-ups.

Brain bursts with ideas. Sorry.

I started a new journal- A journal of journaling techniques-

I have seen so many great ideas for page layouts and techniques, but when I sit down to create my pages I struggle to recall the ideas I have seen- so I am creating my own art journal reference book- which has dual benefits-I have reference material close by and I get to practice the technique before using it in other journals

I used a Coptic stitch to make the journal. it measures 4"x6"
