Sixteen pages is a lot to catch up on! Whew!  It looks like a good crew here!

I was the lucky recipient of a journal made by Avesthel last December and worked on it throughout 2013.  There are still lots of pages left, so I'd like to join in the fun here!

I love all the work I've seen so far and can relate to those expressing worries that the work isn't good enough to share.  BUT, art journaling is FUN!  I got some prismacolor markers for CHristmas, too!  Can't wait to try them out!

Looking forward to looking through the links on the first page!

Those pages are beautiful, faemystique!  Everyone's posts so far have been very inspiring.

I've been trying to work on my journal a bit everyday.  I might have a couple of images to post this coming week.  I feel like my pages are so plain, but I'm trying not to compare.  Cheesy

Sorry to hear that, teag, but good luck and I'm eager to see your new journal!   Smiley

Great pages!  I particularly love the new one with her little bunny and the curly smoke.   Cheesy

I know its hard not to compare, but truly there is no one right way to do the pages.   Just do what makes you happy.   Smiley

I love your pages Faemystique. I especially like your style of drawing.: cute and colorful and a bit of whimsy.

I am working a lot on my drawings and paintings for my journal. I am enjoying myself but also wish I could devote more time to it. I wanted one vignette a day on something that I really enjoyed that day but I am a bit behind on it. I also realized I can add more decorations to my pages later on, it doesn't have to be a perfect page before I can start on the next one. I hope I will start putting it together during this week.

Don't compare. You can always add to your pages later when you find the perfect materials for them.
I often just start with a base...then add on as time gives me ideas and supplies.
We all need to be different, that is what makes art interesting. Nobody is better than you. Just different.
I wish us artists were not so hard on ourselves. Give yourself credit for being creative. You deserve it.
Not everyone can think up neat things, or even has an interest in it. We do on here!
Some of my worst mistakes have turned into my best pieces. Not just my opinion, but the opinion of others who view it and say "WOW".
Journaling is a personal experience. And very theraputic.

Craft on!

To all of us who are discouraged by comparing ourselves to others (myself included)....  It occurred to me that we only need to continue our journey and compare our current self to our past self.   I am working on a page that might be my best yet.  Each new page I do,  I feel I have become better than I was. It's our own personal journey and we can seek inspiration from others but shouldn't down on ourselves for we are all unique individuals seeking to further our artistic selves.   Food for thought...
