I just receive a WONDERFULLY AWESOME package from Melissa, honeyd. She knew exactly what I needed today. I was in the middle of grading and completing a project when the mail came but I would let myself open it until I was done.

And when I opened it, I literally cried. She Stitched my all-time favorite Shel Silverstein quote on canvas. Here it is. And, I really did cry when I saw it. It means so much to me. No fairy godmother or wishing on a star for me, I did things my da&n self. Definitely an affirming quotation!

For some reason, the photo shifted when I uploaded it. So everyone, tilt your head or turn your screen. It's an awesome work of art Smiley

Here is a close up of that amazing stitching.

And to top it off, she included a washi tape journal (perfect for this crazy list writer) and a washi mini print with the words, "Bee You" with a nifty Oz card. I'm going to hang it next to my Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland birthday card.

Thank you again honeyd!!

vgnmom, So glad you are enjoying it! That book really was fun to make, and the little "extras" were made from the left over window frame bits from the book, and were inspired by a gift from someone special to me. That was my original inspiration, and I thought I'd only make those, but you know how that goes, ideas start rolling and expand, then books are born! Glad you see the waldorf connection as well! I love that esthetic too.Hope it finds a special place in your home!

Helena Puck, that is a wonderful piece. It looks so amazing stiched on canvas like that. you are a lucky girl!

I know! I really am! I decided to use my special journal to document all the swaps and the special people who've made me special things. I was looking around the house the other day and realized that I don't remember each person who made those special things for me. I do have things pinned on a swaps pinteret board, but with all the work each person puts in, I should remember each person much better. The journal will help me.

I'm so glad you liked it!!! <3  I knew right away that was the quote I wanted to use it was just getting the technique right, haha.  I have the exact same philosophy on life, something you don't like, get up and change it, attitude Smiley

I love the idea of keeping a journal like that!!  I think I'll have to go through and do that too!  I have such amazing things from swaps!

This gallery is so cool!  I really love the book idea and I'm totally going to swipe it to make for a friend Smiley
