I'm more or less done with moving now, yay! Now I can focus on crafting again Cheesy I've managed to get one card done already but I need to send it. Other cards are going to need some serious sifting through boxes to find where I put all my craft supplies x_x

I'm having a problem that I didn't really anticipate - not enough light to craft!! The only lights that come with my new apartment (actually all apartments in this complex - our last one was pretty bad too) are in the kitchen, bathrooms, hallway, and somehow this time we managed to get a ceiling fan in the living room that has one but is not very bright. The bedroom and living rooms do not have ceiling light fixtures! We've got a couple of lamps but not enough for all the rooms. I was trying to get some crafting done in our new craft room (my bf does models so I feel good about not completely taking over the space lol) but the light was so dim I didn't want to try to go mixing paint colors if I couldn't really see them. My mission on my day off tomorrow is to get a few more floor lamps so I can finally see! I would have gotten a few of my cards done earlier tbh but this has been holding me back o_o

oddacity I completely understand. Why do apartments/houses not have overhead lighting anymore? When I moved in the living room didn't have an overhead light AND the previous owners had painted the walls black. No amount of lamps in the world could help that situation.

LOL I can craft in the dark as long as I'm not painting/coloring anything. I don't want it to turn out weird when I get it into regular light.

Anyway I got some awesome cheap lamps from Target which look like they will do the trick nicely. Smiley

Sounds like a good excuse to get some glow-in-the-dark mod podge. Wink

Finally had time to update the thread... whew! You guys have been busy Smiley

I'm sorry the updates are so rare lately... we had to renovate our workspace rather unexpectedly since all our fancy shelves decided to fall down tearing wallpaper and large chunks of wall down with them, and right now, large parts of our apartment feel something like this:

(not my actual room - mine looks even worse!)

I will have even less time the upcoming months, and have been thinking of handing over the torch in October. I'll host September's swap, but someone will have to take over after that. We'll be traveling again almost the whole month, and I don't think I'll be able to keep up. If anyone feels like stepping up, just send me a pm!

Wow, kosmicgirl, can I move in with you? Then I won't worry about making a mess  Grin It sure looks like you have your hands full. I wish you luck on your renovations. And have a happy vacation to get away from it all. Of course, I don't think you will. You will come home with a carload of junk to add to things.  Grin If you are like me, anyway.

~T

Edit to add: For the lighting? Mirrors. They reflect the light back to you. Even if you just temporarily lean them behind the lamps. As long as you get their angle without glare. Just a thought.
