I tend to use leftover paper from cards and nice envelopes because they tend to be a nice white stationery. I would recommend card-stock though, or even a heavier-weight printer paper (like 32 or 34 lb). I also utilize books to dry stuff in a nice way, and I tend to glue the front down, press, then fold the backs and cut, glue, press.

If you already have some printed out on your thin paper, you might consider gluing an extra layer of paper on the back before mounting on a card, or even pre-treating with a layer of glue on the back - like mod podge. Smiley

I often use spray adhesive on the lighter papers to attach to a heavier stock. Very good bond and no buckling. Then you can Mod Podge over the top if you want. I have a spray glue box I use with a cover I can throw over as soon as I am done...keeps the spray contained.

Thanks guys!

That spray box sounds intriguing... I am imagining just a repurposed shoe box in my head, but am I misunderstanding?

I use a fairly good sized cardboard box. I then cover the bottom with one of the weekly publications (so I can keep turning to a new clean page) then just spray in the bottom of the box, then cover quickly with the cloth to keep the smell and fumes contained. ....easy.

I use glue stick or pva to attach light weight paper to cardboard, then just trim the corners if I decide fold. Sometimes I like the look of continued art on the flipside, and sometimes not. I have a hot iron press I usually press the cards in (without heat! Smiley ) The spray box sounds intricate in all its simplicity - but I haven't found a spray glue I like around here yet, so...

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Since I'm on holiday a few weeks end of July, vincentvanbuck has been kind enough to co-org with me this month. He will take over mid-July until I return. Hopefully I'll be able to come online and forward messages to him if anyone forgets to send the information his way. If there are a few hold ups or snatches along the way, I hope you'll all forgive us!

Sent in my questionnaire! It's been so long since I've done this swap, I signed up in April but was too intimidated by all the fabulous cards to claim. I'm going to try and not chicken out this time.  Cheesy

Sooo tempted! But the sensible side of me says not this month. We're packing up to move to our new house at the end of the month. I wouldn't want packages to go astray. I will be putting in mail redirection but it's never 100% reliable and always late. So until August, I'll just be watching. As soon as August is here I finally get ALL of my craft supplies back and can maybe do drawing with some mixed media aspects, yay!!!
