I have finished my 1st little de-stash project - some baby gifts for my Boss who is having a little boy in Feb.

5 little baby washcloths and 3 pairs of socks (1 newborn size, 2 slightly larger). These were all made using the left overs of yarn from other sock projects.

I also might have a chance to help you all destash some yarn  Smiley I have been asked to help out a HUGE charity knit project to run throughout this year and they may be looking for donations of either DK yarn or knitted squares. They are going to be raising money for a childrens renal therapy charity. I will have more details soon, and will cross post here and the "crafting for good..." thread. PM if you want to know more before then though Smiley

I have had computer-problems since the New Year, but am finally online again. It did help on the crafting, though  Roll Eyes.
So many great projects, already!

Yesterday's craft supply exchange at work was a success.  I only brought two items home with me - both of which were ones I brought in that didn't find new homes.  They will probably go in the next good will run.

Anyone want to join me for a mini challenge this weekend? My goal is to collect, quantify, and photograph my stash.  I need to get a better idea of what I'm facing.

I'm so glad I found this group. This is something I've been working on - without much success - for at least a year already!  I just can't say "No" to paying only $100 for the knitting-related leftovers from a craft store going out of business OR filling up my Corolla with bags of another knitter's stash 'cause she was moving.  And how can I turn down the orphan knitting needles at a lawn sale or the unloved yarn at a church sale.

However, I will get things better organized and donate some yarn to the local middle school for their knitting club.  Then there are the kitty mats for the animal shelter and the hats for the senior center.

If I start writing down all the things I make and give away, I'll feel better about having that stash.

Looking for Sophia the first fabric and Frozen fabric (preferably flannel, but would settle for cotton) and Phoomph.  I'm in Canada and the companies are that I could order from charge $20-$30 shipping, so if anybody can find some and wants to swap/sell, I would be eternally greatfull.

Ok, I blew it! Went to the OKC Quilt Show yesterday. The only supplies I bought were 2 fat quarter-sized pieces of felt, a small package of chenille, two fabric storybook panels, and a kit to make two mesh-front bags. The felt and chenille are for use in a swap I'm currently in, the books are for future (hopefully) grandchildren, and the bag kit is for my daughters. So nothing was just a random purchase of supplies. The randomness was in the patterns, books, and half-square triangle tools I bought. How can you pass up a pattern for only $1? Don't know what kind of excuse I can think up for the other stuff! But I do make a lot of half-square triangles when I'm piecing quilt tops, so I think the templates may really help.  Grin
