I am totally stoked with this, it really surprised me how well it worked out  Grin This won't be a total stash project as I need to buy wadding but the top and backing fabrics are stash.
I've fallen in love with Jenny Doan & The Missouri Star Quilt Co. I can't afford the postage to justify buying from them but her quilting videos have me hooked!  Grin I sat and followed along with her this afternoon/evening after hubby had gone to work as I didn't want him to catch me indulging in unnatural practises (ironing) and this is what I ended up with.

I need to research binding points next  Smiley
I'll be giving this to my older sister as soon as it is complete,I'll just go by her house and leave it on her dining table for her to come home to *lol* it is my genteel version of yarnbombing  Wink

In case it's not obvious the fabrics are dark green, red with gold stars and white with silver swirls and leaves

It is around 36" long judging by how it fits on my sewing table & maybe 18" wide, that's just a guess though and that's why I didn't think I'd be successful at patchwork as my measuring is a bit hit & miss  Wink Thank goodness for templates!

I made a few destashing projects over the past few weeks to donate to a local silent auction, but I forgot to take pictures! Oh well, at least I used some supplies up!

I made a kitchen set - 2 hanging towels, an apron, a hot pad, and a set of reusable "paper" towels, a chevron and burlap tote bag, a headband holder, and 4 embroidered hooded towels.

Thankfully, my towel stash is starting to dwindle!

May Themes

Cotton Yarn
by Fearless Stumbler, on Flickr

Color: Green
Pattern: Floral
For: Your yard, window box, or back alley.
Challenge 1: If your stash is anything like mine you've got a fair amount that was given to you by friends and relatives trying to reduce their own stashes.  Make them something from the materials they gave you.
Challenge 2: Nature Crafts!

Wow, I just had to go through 15 pages to catch up. I hadn't realized it's been so long. And as always, there are so many great pojects!

I did a bit crafting, and it was practically all from stash! And mostly for the Ongoing Wish Swap. (Anything bought last year, say, ordered Dec 31, counts as stash, right?) Anyway I'm just being all relaxed right now, not working on my presentation for Wednesday at all, so I thought I could post a few pictures... and then I went through my images, and it seems I haven't posted anything here this year, can this be possible? Time flies! Here we go:

A tiny little dollhouse for a dollhouse. Height is about 2in.

A wrap bracelet and two dollhouse-size necklaces (or human-size rings).

This is just destash now: 4kg of Fimo (including a bit of tools, pigment and stuff). The old stuff. From before there was the distinction between Fimo soft and Fimo classic. So more than 10 years old, mostly left to me by my mom, and I couldn't make it work anymore (hurts my hands). So I gave it away.

This took care of a whopping 2 inch picture frame, two post-its, and one little piece of soapstone... The six pebbles were obtained specifically for this, I was walking around head down for weeks!

A tic tac toe pouch (made a second one in teal with brown, with yellow & purple xs and os). Have to keep practicing, someday these will turn out as planned!

Two pincushions, a bird and a wrist thingy - two woolen jacket sleeves went into those.

Some felt & beads (is it Christmas yet?) as a thank you for texscrapper (for the great purple unpaper towels!)

Embroidery hoop, felt, thread, mother of pearl buttons:

Mini crayon rolls/pencil cases (I even made one more for my daughter beforehand, (not pictured) that fits 5.5 pencils... I keep forgetting to add a few mm for turning!

Very relaxing multi strand necklace for me (I had made one for someone else and I loved it so much...) - now I have lots of this beadsoup leftover. Anyone? The colours are a bit more toned down in real life.

Sewing machine organizer mat. This one actually used up a noticeable bit of stash!

A little velvet clutch with polkadot lining. I butchered a little black skirt from a friend for this:

And from when I couldn't find the camera, and forgot to turn the picture over... Alice in Wonderland Drink Me bottle - and I'm so hoping it still holds up! I wish I had used resin instead of water, I didn't think about this until after I was done!

Beaded bracelet, still my favourite craft (with a little stamped taggie. Hammering on things is great, too!)

I think there was more in January (already on the external drive), and some stuff for the kids, but I don't know where those pics are, so I think I better stop here and go to bed.

fabulous destashing projects, anna!!!

love those pencil rolls and also the sewing machine mat!

The rock family is very cute...oh boy, I have tons of rocks in my yard to try that!  Not sure I can destash all of the rocks... Grin

lol I have plenty of stuff given to me that I need to destash...great May theme!

k-star--I love Jenny's videos!  She really is a good teacher...I used to belong to Missouri Quilting Forum, but they mostly only do quilts there and I could not have another internet forum to suck up my time!

Love your little runner...good to see you in the quilting...
