Those stars are wonderful, cmarion! Did you make your own pattern? Great scrap using idea, too. Smiley

I used Illustrator to create some stars in different sizes, then picked the sizes I wanted. They are 4" tall. Any star shape would work. I really like the tails as you toss them around.

Now I need to work up a game to go with it. Maybe a travel around the universe racking up points done on a small quilt or throw? My grandson would love this.

I saw my nail person this weekend...she dragged me to her workstation and showed me the little felt ornament I gave her a few weeks ago...she said she loved it and that she was just shocked that anybody would give away a handmade item for free...she tells everyone it was free and everyone is shocked as well...I told her that people around here better get used to it, because I am leaving stuff around all over!

ha ha she wanted to know where so she and her girlfriends can go find them...I had to explain "random" to her... Grin

Love the little fun projects...I am making a little notebook of ideas and any reactions:

Creepy dolls without notes=not a good idea

Shooting stars=fun and good idea

Felted ornaments=fun and good idea....

Yeah...i was thinking that too...Nice way to put it though Grin

Though I have been slow to get anything done, I thought of a place to put abandon art today...specially kid orientated stuff.  Those out side set ups for the carts at grocery stores!  What mom (or dad) wouldn't love a little something something to keep the kidlets distracted for an hour Grin

It's rather sad that porcelain dolls have gone from treasures to creepy...thanks to the movies. It's also sad that surprise gifts on your doorstep are viewed with such suspicion. I wonder what runs through someone's head when they find our abandoned art? It probably covers a wide range!

Them being creepy has nothing to do with movies for me.  I've been creepyed out by dolls since I was a kid (part of the reason I have no trouble manipulating them now..).  I've always been a stuffie kid (the Amish feel it is a bad thing to reproduce humans representations at all as only God can do that...not that I'm Amish..).  I would not respond well to a doll made of me with no note or anything.  I don't think it has to do with modern day suspicion...I can't see anyone from any time going, "Oh COOL!" if they found a doll looking like them with no note to explain what was going on.  They would think VOODOO!  Or a witch's cures.....I understand the poor lady was trying to be nice.  And I'm sad that she was feeling so...not confident...that she felt she had to hide her creativity and she was made to feel bad about wanting to do a good thing.  But I have a hard time imagining that anyone would feel GOOD about getting a doll dressed up like themselves with no reason why (porcelain or not..)...let alone one of their children.  The sad part (to me)  is that she felt she had to hide what she was doing in the first place.  It seems clear she has been made to feel bad that she is a creative soul.  That is the tragedy..IMHO

And it is a wonderful inspiration for us all to put notes on the things we leave for those who need reminding we are all creative spirits...so many of us have been driven away from that basic thing...as far as I'm concerned...being human means creating (though I believe animals create too..that is a completely different topic)..if we ignore it, it comes out in bad ways...Thankfully, most of us live in a time where we can express it and not be strung up by our ears...it is not that way for everyone still, and it has not always been that way...I feel terrible for that poor women....but I understand how those people who received the gifts felt.  The hard/sad part is it became a world wide issue, and not something that was dealt with amongst the folks involved.

Jumping off my angsty high horse now Grin
