You are probably smart!  You can relax and enjoy the holidays instead of running around being crazy! Grin

I have loads of Christmas fabric but I never know what to do with smaller pieces...bags are now on my list--they are so practical and cute!

I'll fill up my wish list with Christmas items, so don't throw those out yet! Smiley)) And I am in love with hexes now, so those will be on my list too Smiley))
I have a full list of Christmas gifts, what I want to give others, but had no time last year... I have a lot of stuff started (e.g. big embroidered tablecloth halfway, etc... Smiley)

I do Christmas crafting all year long.  My family knows it and they think I'm crazy but it's a lifesaver for me.  Since I'm a freelance writer, I never know when I'll have a major project with a tight turnaround (or four or five of those in a row!) so that way I limit stress (always so important with chronic illness) and if a work rush doesn't come, then I get to just enjoy the holidays!

Usually by November or so, I start planning Christmas ideas for the NEXT year.  I also like that it gives me plenty of time to spread out projects/crafts I don't love or ones that can hurt when I just keep doing them for weeks on end (like lino cuts).  And with the five "littles" (nieces and nephews that are all within about a year age-wise), I've done some stuff and swapped for things that I probably won't actually give them for another year or two  Cheesy

In fact, my husband (who is seriously prone to anxiety) will occasionally have a random moment of worrying that I'm going to leave him, in which case I can pull something out and be like "I've spent six hours on this for your mother's CHRISTMAS present.  Does that strike you as something I would do if I planned to leave?!" (especially since I am not a fan of my MIL) Smiley

Haha lol! Smiley
In every year, I am late with Christmas gifts, and in the last days, I am realizing, that a lot of people's basket is almost empty, so I am going out and start buying stuff. And every year, I am promising myself, that I'll do differently next year, I'll be more prepared, I'll start earlier. In addition, we are always getting invites from others with kids, and we cannot go there with empty hands... and what we are bringing?! Chocolates for the kids... so, this year, I'll do differently! I promise! Cheesy
I have made a lot of stuffs what I can give baby boys and girls (small ornaments, little toys - most of them are stuffed felt things.) I also traded some stuff for handmade soaps for the adult ones for the same occasion (I love those anyways, I am using a lot of handmade cleaning stuffs and body moisturizers also).
But... again, I've claimed someone, and will do crafting for her, and not for my Christmas list... there goes my promises .. Cheesy

The matching game is great and I love the addition of the case.

I definitely need reusable Christmas bags (and maybe some fun birthday themed ones as well).

You guys are inspiring me to get a head start on Christmas 2014.  I'm really great about shopping clearance sales and buying gifts through-out the year, but not so much with my handcrafted gifts.  I think I'm going to put smaller things on my list and see if I can collect those here and get started on the bigger things myself right away.  Oh, that means I mean some nice WIP bags!

Yeah, swapping is the number one thing - far and away - that keeps me from getting the crafting I NEED to do DONE.  Cheesy  Which is one reason I like the OGS as well as this since then I can get my fix of crafting stuff I like while getting stuff I need as gifts - win/win!

That said, you'll note I'm not in either this month.  I have birthday gifts overdue to family plus a show I need inventory for, etc.  And if I join, I can't be one of those people that claims once or twice...nope, I need to be at my max all the time!  Roll Eyes

If it were not for swaps, my poor nieces and nephews would get almost nothing from me...mainly because I have no idea what to make!  I like the clever little games and things I have seen here...I am going to go through the galleries and add some things to the list for them...I am in love with the I Spy things and the matching fabric game...also the fire pit and bunny bowling! Grin

Seriously?  For me they are infinitely the easiest.  I do a lot of felt stuff - I did the play Christmas trees with ornaments, I've done felt name books for all of them (well, working on my last 2 now), personalized felt pillow (with a little face with their hair color, eye color, etc and their name), and I have Olliblocks for all of them now (thanks to OGS) and I'm looking forward to doing peg people in the future, especially peg nativity scenes (because they're just SO cute!), and so on.  When the older nieces and nephews were younger, some of my greatest hits were personalized painted shirts and hats (holy cow, Jacob did not know what to do with himself when he got a tee with Wall-E on it - he refused to wear anything else for a week).

The adolescent, pre-teen, and teen nieces and nephews are WAY more difficult, even to buy for.  Two of them are just super picky and the other three are often incommunicado and no one knows what they want or need and ALL of them are way into video games and whatnot and I don't buy them that stuff.   Undecided
