Those are all from baby shirts?  wow!  So instead of 4, you made 6...even wower! Grin

any tips?  My niece has asked me to make a quilt using her son's clothing...all sorts of fabrics from corduroy to knits...any help would be appreciated as I have mostly quilted only cottons and some flannel...I like the pattern in the middle...what pattern is that?

The two smaller ones are rail fence. Simple. These were all cottton or flannel. I have made memory wuilts with other fabrics. USE interfacing on tshirts or nylons or anything else. Some of those can be a NIGHTMARE!

His shirts ranged in sze from 12m-size 10. Some short sleeve some long. The biggest pain was cutting enough blocks of each. Size. And finding a "squarish" grain to cut along.

Seeking scraps! I'm in need of a variety of white on white scraps. (2.5inch square minimum) for pixel quilts. Have any? Swap for? PM me! Smiley

thanks for the info!  I am hoping that she has a lot of clothes and they are in cottons, but I think there are a whole lot of knits...ugh...I have flexible knit interfacing that should stabilize the fabrics...

Awesome quilt tops slothy... I love the designs.  I would look for shirting stripe or plaid backings.  Or maybe just a blue chambray.

Always,  I don't think you want the flexible knit interfacing.  I think you want something woven or not stretchy.  I haven't worked with knit for quilts, but all the ones I've seen have not used a knit interfacing.  The stretchy stuff will stabilize the fabric but it won't eliminate the stretch problem for quilting.

Perhaps some one with experience can chime in here...

I am having a quilting pity party.  I went to the longarm place today to finish two quilts and this was the last Saturday she had available til October (I'm due in September).  Anyway, I got through nearly the entire raw edge circle quilt when I noticed something was wrong with the entire back.  Apparently the tension got messed up so I have to rip the entire thing out!  Two hours lost.   Angry  Not to mention all the time I'll be parked on the couch ripping seams.  And unless there is a miracle, I won't get to go back and longarm it again til baby is older.  Grr...

I think I posted the layout before - here it is quilted:

I used purple to quilt.  This is definitely the brightest quilt I've done so far lol.  I'll get the binding on after my dad visits.

Fantastic!  I love the purple!  It is bright, but all those colors together are just fabulous...and you know I was not really sure about them when you posted the colors... Grin...
