Oh my gosh, MareMare, I love it!!! Your stars are not all true to points {the wonky star thing}, but I think that adds to the effect. Your fabrics are wonderfully selected. What a wonderful project. Now I have to look up what a wonky star pattern is  Grin Or even if you use one or just "wing" it? Looks like a great way to destash my scraps. I throw nothing away that can fit in my palm  Grin "Trim bin!" BTW. I have tried this star pattern for the real kind, and it is challenging to keep them on points. This one looks much more fun than frustrating. And gives a real playful kick to things. Rocking you!

Here's the Wonky Star tute we tend to use.

http://thesillyboodilly.blogspot.com/2009/02/wonky-star-tutorial.html

We actually started with 5 inch squares of fabric sorted by color. My Programs Coordinator and I cut a lot of fabric before our charity sew day. That yielded a block closer to 14 inches, and then we could trim it down nicely to 12.5 inches. And not sure if you can tell, but we used a combo of white, cream, and white on white prints for the background colors, which lent some more visual interest.

It was really fun! Now I need to find a good Fat Eighth friendly pattern for our next Charity sew, we have a ton of the Riley Blake MQG challenge fabrics left over, but they are cut into FEs.

Here's a couple more I made for a different charity project. The gal in charge of this quilt had us each pick a color. I woke up late on Pacific time and there was only a couple colors left lol! I normally wouldn't choose red.

And here's the start of the layout from the gal who's putting it together

Yes, if you consider the raven tails to be Black Crows, it was definitely a licorice week around here.

I finally have my first Quilt of 2014 completed and ready to share! It's a mini. I'm doing a wall of minis in my craft room/office. It is a block from the Spools Quilt in Quilty Magazine. Its about 24" square.

And, if all goes well I will have my second share tomorrow. Just finishing the binding and sending this baby to the washer and dryer. I managed to get the binding sewn in 2 nights watching Call The Midwife on Netflix.

Great stuff, guys!

I hope to get back to quilting in a week or so, right now I am doing boring administration stuff for the guild and working on cutting up 15 yard bolts of fabric into Fat Eighths for our next challenge!

2 finished quilts for 2014 so far.  I appologize for the pictures.  I promise the Minecraft Creeper is completed, I just didn't realize I didn't take a final picture of it until after I sold it  Undecided  Here's a picture of it basted

Wreck it Ralph.  I think he's one of my favorite of everything I've made so far.  He didn't sell, so I may put a sleeve on him and hang him on the wall for a bit - at least until I decide he's a cuddle blanket
