Here are a couple of lighter sleeves with Alaskan themed patterns.   One raven and purple iris.   The iris was for my boyfriend's mom, and the raven was for a friend's husband.  (His animal is raven.). They both really liked them!  Now it is harder to have someone walk off with their lighters.

The iris pattern duplicates itself, but the raven is a wrap.  The bottoms are just thin leather stitched on.  The sleeves will slide off and on to an new lighter when needed.

How pretty! They're both great! Do you make these for lip balm too? I've never seen beaded sleeves like this before, but think they'd make such lovely decorations for lip balms!  Wink

Those are fabulous! Are they snug on there? I can see it being an excellent way of keeping track of your lighter, and even give you more motivation for doing so.

I bet you could modify one of these, or one of the pen sleeve patterns for lip balms!  I have only done the pen versions or these.  Never thought of lip balm, but that is a super neat idea!

They turned out pretty snug.  You have to work them to remove them, especially once you stitch the bottoms on.  Smiley That was my exact idea for my boyfriend's mom, since his brother is a lighter thief and I know he won't keep something with a purple flower.

Neato! These would make great gifts. Did you make them from a pattern?

Yes!  My local bead store, Pristine's, has some totally wicked Alaska themed patterns.  If you look it up, these came from Beaded Alive: A Natural Beginning.  They also have some stand alone patterns up on the webpage that are really neat.  I am a huge fan of the PM sleeve patterns, they make great gifts.   Grin

I changed the background color for the raven though, the chosen shade was a light neutral with peachy tones.  Not what I wanted to give a guy.  The iris had a change in color for the border too, it turned into a solid gold Toho since I didn't have the matte brass delica shade handy.

Thanks again, everyone!
