Okay, my blocks arrived. They are both bigger and smaller than what I imagined.

And the blankness is intimidating.....

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

I just got back from four days at the Smithsonian. They had a Byzantine exhibit there that blew my socks off. Pottermouth, you may get something that looks like it's from Constantinople!  Cheesy

Awesome! I love history!

Got my plans mostly worked out and now I have to figure out how to fit it is such a bitty space.  Huh

I know. The thickness blew me away. I cut the blocks last night and had a bonding session with my Mouse Sander. Vibrating hands! Oh My. I couldn't type after that! I'm having a time envisioning the sides and back and top and bottom. But I'm getting there. 2D is so much less work sometimes. I'm just working in stages, I will prime and sand again for a nice surface. i think I found my first layer so going to do that as well. Put off the assemblage until the last moment!.

Whew. The pile of possibilities is growing.

Did some drilling and chiseling. I guess I better decide what this block is going to be about. I've never been very good at the "throw stuff at it and see what sticks" approach. But I admire those who are.

I plan on making some good progress tonight -- I have my design mostly figured out, and my supplies at hand. I have just needed the last key element -- time in my craft room!

Well, my original idea sort of morphed into something else...and it is all because of a beautiful tea towel that Wulf made for his bread making...I think I was more inspired by the person than the chunk of wood...but now I want to make my original as well and see which one wins... Grin

The storm has delayed my Joanns package with all my crafting supplies so Im stuck waiting still. I feel really bad for the poor UPS workers transporting my package but the wait is killing me!

Well I jinxed myself and have made no progress what-so-ever.

The kiddo's first day back to school was a snow day (which he was very pleased about, me not so much). And now, Satan has infected me with some sort of new super evil germ that has left me in bed for 2 days. I can't complain too much since all the holiday hubbub is over and I haven't spent a day in bed in EONS but I'll still complain a bit because my ass is being kicked and my blocks are staring at me demanding attention.

P.S. Wulf - I should tell you that D is in the process of making you something so you'll have to come for a visit when the germs and ice have cleared  Kiss

Both Wulf and I offered to send anyone blocks if they need them. Just PM one of us and we will send it off as fast as you want them. My blocks are a bit weathered and older looking. Let us know.
