Cushion attack!!!!!

My lounge furniture is manky. So were my cushions. But now, I have some new ones!! (and more will come). Now if only I could do something about the lounge suite ....

My friend was having a birthday - he is an introvert like me, and a gamer. I saw this line on pinterest, so I made a version for him (he loved it Cheesy)

(I have another one to sew up for hubby too Wink)

... and these last cushions are bit more serious. My dear, very creative and talented aunty died a few years ago. I inherited a lot of her sewing and craft things. One of them was a box full of a half-made quilt from years ago - several patchwork and hand-appliqued (!) 12" blocks, and a bunch of fabric and cut pieces. I don't know why she never finished it. It's beautifully done, but is a very traditional design in dark fabrics.

It was my uncle's birthday, and I didn't know what to get him (he never wants anything more than a phonecall). So I made up two of the quilt squares into cushions - simple machine quilting, and added a border. I'm very pleased with how they came out - the neutral putty-coloured linen I added seems to work well. I'm undecided what to do with the rest of the quilt bits - may make up a quilt with it, but combine with more neutrals.

The cushions are beautiful. Making the quilt pieces into cushions was a clever idea and a gift I am sure your uncle will treasure!

First off, I had to look up to see what "manky" meant....Grin...ok, now I know why  you made those gorgeous pillow covers!

I think you made good use of your aunt's unfinished quilt projects...that is a good way to modernize vintage style quilts: using modern neutrals!

I finished another blanket! (Of course I did!)

This pattern was originally supposed to be adult sized using worsted weight yarn, but it was smaller than the other adult patterns, so I thought I'd see what size it would be using sport weight (43"x62", as it turns out).  The original plan was to join the pink squares with a rainbow and white striping yarn but it looked terrible, so I ripped it out and went with the dark purple instead:

Not sure how to call this one for my list... hmm...

The rainbow skirt looks so pretty. Were the fabrics from your stash or did you have to purchase each separately? It looks like there are no duplicates, so either way, that's a lot of fabrics!

The chevron knit pillows make me want to try knitting again.

The pink Granny squares make me think of cotton candy because of the way the color swirls around the center. Amazed at how quickly you finish designs and how pretty they all are.

The chevron knit pillows make me want to try knitting again.

They were an easy project and relatively quick - just knitted squares in the simple knit and purl design. They are lined and sewn together with fabric backs.  Smiley
