Thanks, Blue Rose!  I followed a video made by our own kittykill!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4ihZ0mFK_8

I used a glass globe from an old light that we replaced...I am trying to find a stand for it so that I can slip a tea light(solar powered) under it to light it up at night!

It's been awhile since I've been here, but I haven't been idle.  Most of my time has been spent working in my garden, but I have also been making a few crafts.

Please excuse the picture dump.  There's been a lot of stuff here.

First, some of my garden photos.

Lima beans

garlic

one of four different tomato varieties.  These also have carrots planted with them, but we won't see them for awhile.

cauliflower, with radishes

one of two beds of strawberries

lemon cucumbers.  We decided to try these in oak barrels this year, along with the celery

celery

Then, I tried to make some small boxes, just to see if my hand was working properly.

made myself a crown from reeds, indian style

also carved a bazillion tiny hearts as a giveaway for a class that I was teaching

I carved a very large hollow spiral, just for fun.  I may try to put something inside of this.

carved this spoon, which won a national contest.

and resulted in making this spoon for a customer

a whimsical fish

a sea turtle that's not quite finished.  I think I'm going to color it.

I also made myself some gathering baskets, for when my harvest is ready.

And a couple of aggravation game boards for a friend.

That's all for now.  I have more stuff, just didn't take photos of everything.

Wow, pinokeeo, you have been busy!  I love your hollow carvings.  I wish I could do that.

But I am a notorious klutz.  I would probably lose a digit or two.  Undecided

Pinokeo, I love all your carvings. In fact, I love them so much that I bought a carving knife and some wood with a giftcard my husband gave me. Now, I need to try. Maybe I should invest in some gloves before though.
I am most impressed by your garden. It looks so beautifil and yummy, and not a single weed in sight!

Love your coffee nook alwaysinmyroom!

Can I just snag that turtle carving to come live with me???  Love it!

I made two Mer people for the Mer Folk Swap hosted by Retro Cafe Art Gallery.  Rather than my usual method of altering stuff I used no paper just paint!  My sweets bought me these really neat paints a while back and I am very pleased with them.  I especially love the merman's tail.  I am not sure if I want to add anything else to the tails cause they seem a bit plain to me.  I think I will have to just keep looking at them and decide...

I also made some Cinnamon Swirl Banana Bread

I got the recipe from Pinterest

I also made some delish shredded beef tacos in the crock pot yesterday but no photo was taken.   Here is the recipe if anyone wants it though.

The hand is mostly recovered, but I'm still working through some issues with my shoulder.

Bunny1kenobi, it just takes a little patience, but you could do it.

Bookstorebabe, the lemon cucumbers have a mild lemony flavor, they are yellow in color and they are burpless.

Yoopidou, definitely get a carving glove.  It could be the difference between a bandaid and a trip to ER.

Thanks, everyone for the comments.  It's good to be back.  Now I just need to focus on that list.

Such wonderful crafts!  I love the stumpwork (I had to look that up, too!) and the ray guns, and all the carved wooden lovelies.  And AIMR, I'm going definitely going to use that globe idea!  Wrapping up a few more things to post later this week.
